The "24-hour entertainment city" model is expected to transform Nha Trang into a hub for the night-time economy.

As the leading city in Khanh Hoa's night-time economic development strategy, Nha Trang is entering a period of strong "awakening." In particular, the presence of the "24-hour entertainment city" model is expected to lead the trend and activate a "gold mine" for growth.

What can we learn from Khanh Hoa's strategy for developing its night-time economy ?

According to Khanh Hoa 's night-time economy development plan, phase 1 (2023-2025), the province will focus on exploiting existing areas and services to support the night-time economy. From 2026 to 2030, Khanh Hoa aims to complete a comprehensive night-time economy model, gradually attracting investment in large-scale entertainment and resort complexes, forming specialized "night-time living spaces" where tourists can stay, experience, and consume within a single, self-contained complex.

With this orientation, Khanh Hoa is entering the trajectory of leading tourist cities in Asia, destinations that have demonstrated the enormous economic power of "night lights." A prime example is Singapore, where Clarke Quay generates over 1 billion SGD in tourism and trade revenue annually, attracting tens of millions of international tourists. This area was transformed from a bustling port in the 19th century into a "nightlife paradise" with hundreds of restaurants, bars, clubs, and shopping areas blending classic and modern styles.

Every night, thousands of tourists flock to Shenzhen (China) to admire the Mangrove Groove multimedia show, staged on a water stage spanning over 5,600 m², or The Happy Coast pedestrian street, which brings together a chain of international restaurants, outdoor bars, high-end shopping malls, and continuously performing street shows;… All are located in OCT Bay, a 24-hour entertainment, commercial, and cultural complex on Nanshan Bay. Even in a country with one of the world's leading economies like China, the "night economy" is considered a strategic weapon to boost domestic consumption and restructure urban tourism.

Returning to Khanh Hoa, the opportunity to create a Vietnamese version of "OCT Bay" or "Clarke Quay" is arriving. Khanh Hoa has Nha Trang, a city that possesses all the elements to become Vietnam's "nighttime economic capital": it has both beaches and rivers, a mild climate, a high density of international tourists, and especially a rich local culture.

After the initial phase of developing activities such as night markets, food streets, and outdoor performing arts spaces, Khanh Hoa's night economy is entering a second phase with a more groundbreaking scale and scope. In this phase, Nha Trang continues to play a strategic central role, with the arrival of Sun Group, bringing with it an initial investment of over 17,000 billion VND into the Charmora City project in South Nha Trang, forming a 227-hectare urban complex.

Keeping pace with the global trend of developing the night-time economy, Sun Group has long been a pioneer in Vietnam, illuminating Phu Quoc Island with its Sunset Town through artistic fireworks displays and spectacular acrobatic performances in the Symphony of the Sea show, and bringing to Da Nang Ba Na Hills a paradise-like setting during the day, shimmering and magical at night.

The essence of those successes will continue to be built upon, creating a new mark of development at Charmora City, with the vision of becoming the largest entertainment, commercial, and night-time economic center in South Central Vietnam. The project is revealed to offer riverside parks, Onsen parks, marinas, and water-based art performances combined with light effects and fireworks; floating markets and the VuiFest night market… All blend together into a continuous “entertainment cycle,” where life doesn't stop after 6 PM but transforms into a completely new, vibrant, and energetic spectacle.

Furthermore, Sun Group demonstrates a vision for sustainable development by planning the project according to the "Sponge City" model. This is a particularly advanced model, inspired by the flexibility of a sponge. Instead of letting natural water flow away wastefully or cause flooding, Sponge City applies solutions for absorbing, filtering, and retaining water through a system of rivers, lakes, parks, and roads. Trees are planted and grown in this water source, creating a green belt and building a sustainable ecological city that is flood-free.

It is clear that Charmora City promises to create a significant transformation in the planning of night-time economic development in Khanh Hoa. With a strong connection between night-time entertainment and tourism activities established within the urban model, Charmora City will reshape the urban landscape of Nha Trang, not just as a vibrant seaside city at night, but gradually positioning itself as a world-class "24-hour entertainment city".

In particular, in recent years, tourism activities in Nha Trang have mainly focused on exploiting the coastal area, while the city also possesses a rich riverine landscape. The riverside area has proven to be a potential area for developing a night-time economic ecosystem, similar to how Singapore developed Clarke Quay right on the Singapore River. Therefore, this remains a vast area for Nha Trang to develop large-scale night-time economic complexes, exploiting the advantages of its waterways to create a multi-billion dollar flow for the economy.

Located in Nam Nha Trang ward, surrounded by two major rivers, Quan Truong and Tac, Charmora City capitalizes on this potential. Leveraging the strengths of transforming the riverbanks into a focal point for entertainment, commerce, and nighttime tourism, Sun Group 's pioneering project will be the trump card to awaken the economy under the lights of Nha Trang in particular and Khanh Hoa in general.
