Specifically, Mr. Pham The Trong Toan (48 years old) - director of Vinacomin Water Transport Joint Stock Company (WTC) - submitted his resignation to the board of directors in early March this year. In his resignation letter, Mr. Toan stated that he had been appointed director since October 21, 2022.
"Throughout my career, I have always strived to perform my assigned duties well. Now, due to health problems, I frequently suffer from high blood pressure, and I am concerned that this will affect my work in the future," Mr. Toan stated as the reason for his resignation and requested that his dismissal be considered as soon as possible.
Mr. Toan's resignation was approved shortly afterwards. At the same time, the WTC board of directors decided to appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - deputy director of Quang Minh Transport Services Joint Stock Company - as director for a term of 5 years. Mr. Cong is also the legal representative of this company.
On its website, WTC introduces itself as a company established in 2007 by the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group .
The founding shareholders are the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group and several of its subsidiaries. WTC has a charter capital of 100 billion VND.
Regarding business performance, WTC's net revenue in 2023 reached VND 1,091 billion, a decrease of over 66% compared to the previous year. The cost of goods sold was high, accounting for nearly 98%, resulting in a low gross profit margin. After deducting all expenses and taxes, WTC's net profit reached over VND 16.1 billion, a decrease of 61%.
Looking at WTC's business data over the years, it's clear that the company's revenue surged dramatically from 500-600 billion VND to nearly 5,000 billion VND in 2019.
In 2020, revenue continued to rise to a record high of nearly 7,000 billion VND, then gradually decreased over the years, falling to just over 1,000 billion VND last year.
