Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah are escalating and becoming increasingly difficult to control. The US believes that fighting could escalate into a full-scale war.

The administration of US President Joe Biden is currently concerned about the outbreak of a full-scale conflict between Israel and Hezbollah following the explosion of communications equipment in Lebanon earlier this week and an Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut on September 20.
Politico, citing unnamed US officials, reported that fighting between Israel and Hezbollah could escalate significantly in the coming days, potentially triggering an all-out war between the two sides.
The latest analysis by the Biden administration suggests that it will be difficult for the two sides to find a way to de-escalate tensions.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on September 20 that Hezbollah special operations commander Ibrahim Aqil and several other commanders were killed in an attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Hezbollah confirmed the death of commander Aqil. The Lebanese Ministry of Health said the Israeli airstrike killed 12 people and injured 66 others.
The threshold for a Hezbollah-Israel conflict was raised after the events of October 7, 2023, when Israel retaliated against the Palestinian Islamic State's Hamas attack that killed more than 1,200 people on Israeli soil.
Like the Houthi and several other groups, Hezbollah is an Islamic organization believed to be sponsored by Iran. Its pro-Iranian branches support Hamas and have intensified fighting with Israel.
