This morning, January 5th, the Provincial Federation of Labor (LĐLĐ) held its second meeting of the Executive Committee, 13th term, to summarize trade union activities in 2023 and implement tasks for 2024. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Tran Huy attended the meeting.

In 2023, trade union activities achieved many important results. The organization of trade union congresses at all levels was carried out in accordance with the regulations of the Vietnam Trade Union Charter. The 13th Provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 term was organized scientifically and in accordance with regulations; the documents were meticulously and carefully prepared; patriotic emulation movements among workers and employees took place enthusiastically and widely; many meaningful projects, products, and activities caring for disadvantaged union members and workers were well organized, creating a strong impact on society.
The work of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers has been effectively implemented. 319 enterprises with trade union organizations have given Tet bonuses to their employees. During programs such as "Tet Reunion," "Workers' Month," and the commemoration of the founding day of the Vietnam Trade Union, trade unions at all levels visited and presented 13,728 gifts totaling 9.6 billion VND to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Trade unions organized 9 dialogues with enterprises, mainly focusing on resolving issues related to employee benefits and policies at the higher-level trade unions, and 216 dialogues at the grassroots level. Trade unions at all levels also proactively participated in and coordinated the effective implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, strengthening supervision of the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations in agencies, units, and enterprises.
Women's work has achieved many important results. 417 grassroots trade unions continued to launch the "Saving Piggy Bank - Giving Love" movement, collecting a total of over 1 billion VND, which has supported 931 female union members and workers in difficult circumstances...
Trade union levels have effectively promoted patriotic emulation movements among workers and launched a high-intensity emulation campaign to celebrate the trade union congresses at all levels with many practical contents and forms relevant to the grassroots. Emphasis has been placed on developing union membership and building strong grassroots trade unions. In 2023, 2,162 new members were recruited, and 29 grassroots trade unions were established in the enterprise sector. 1,088 outstanding union members were recommended to the Party for consideration for membership, and 519 outstanding union members were admitted to the Party, including 35 workers...

In 2024, the Provincial Labor Union set specific targets such as: striving to have 43,000 union members throughout the province; establishing 25 new grassroots trade unions; at least 92% of enterprises and units with trade union organizations signing collective labor agreements; building 27 "Trade Union Shelter" houses and 6 official residences for civil servants in disadvantaged areas; and on average, each grassroots trade union recommending at least one outstanding union member for the Party to consider for admission... To achieve these targets, the Provincial Labor Union outlined 8 key tasks and solutions that need to be focused on in 2024.
On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded emulation flags to 2 collectives; certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 8 individuals for outstanding achievements in building a strong trade union movement; certificates of merit to 1 collective and 2 individuals for outstanding achievements in implementing the program "1 million initiatives - striving to overcome difficulties, being creative, determined to win against the COVID-19 pandemic"; the Provincial Confederation of Labor awarded emulation flags to 9 collectives with many achievements.
