Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; leaders of departments, agencies, and localities; representatives of educational institutions; and a large number of outstanding officials and teachers in the city.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the Hai Phong Education and Training sector in the 2020-2025 period. Patriotic emulation movements have been widely implemented, linked to the political tasks of each unit, contributing to improving the overall quality of education. Currently, over 76% of schools in the city meet national standards, and the teaching staff is standardized and constantly innovating and creating.
Students in Hai Phong consistently achieve high results in national and international student competitions, winning numerous Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at regional and world Olympiads. Hundreds of collectives and individuals have been commended by the Party, State, Government, Ministry of Education and Training , and the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, and thousands of cadres and teachers have been recognized with emulation titles at various levels.
The sector has also actively responded to major emulation movements of the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training such as: "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", "For the poor - Leaving no one behind", "Promoting administrative reform", "National digital transformation"... Many effective models and practices have been disseminated, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere throughout the sector.
Entering the 2025-2030 period, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training has set specific emulation goals, including striving for 90% of schools at all levels to meet national standards; 100% of educational institutions to have at least one smart classroom; 100% of communes and wards to have multi-purpose buildings serving teaching at all levels; improving the quality of general and preschool education programs; strengthening moral education, life skills, and lifelong learning; and promoting the identification and nurturing of outstanding students at the provincial, national, and international levels…
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung requested the Education and Training sector to continue closely adhering to Resolution 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development. Emulation movements should be closely linked to the sector's key tasks, avoiding formalism, and prioritizing the identification, nurturing, and replication of exemplary advanced models, especially teachers directly involved in teaching and students who overcome difficulties to excel in their studies.
The "Good Teaching - Good Learning" movement continues to be a central focus, emphasizing innovative teaching methods that develop students' qualities and competencies; focusing on moral education, revolutionary ideals, and life skills; building happy and safe schools; and developing a teaching staff that is strong in expertise, morally upright, and sufficient in number. The city will research policies to reward, honor, and attract talented personnel to the teaching profession.
In addition, the education sector is promoting comprehensive digital transformation, urgently building digital educational records, developing a digital learning resource system, and implementing transparent, autonomous, and effective school governance.
At the conference, on behalf of the President and the Prime Minister, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung presented prestigious awards to outstanding collectives and individuals in the education sector: the Third-Class Labor Medal was awarded to Excellent Teacher Trinh Ngoc Tung, Principal of Hong Quang High School; the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit was awarded to the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training and 11 outstanding officials and teachers; the Government's Emulation Flag was awarded to Thanh Ha High School, Thanh Mien 2 High School, Ninh Giang High School; and the National Emulation Soldier title was awarded to teacher Le Huy Chien and teacher Nguyen Thu Quyen of Nguyen Trai Specialized High School.
On this occasion, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training commended 14 exemplary collectives and 25 outstanding individuals in the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020–2025.
