Located nearly 150km from Da Nang city center (over 4 hours by car), Tr'hy commune serves as a gateway to the mountainous communes of Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province, near the border with Laos. The majority of the local population are Co Tu ethnic people, whose main source of income comes from agricultural production, including crops and, more recently, medicinal plants. Out of a total of 390 households, 202 households in the commune are classified as poor.

Recently, at the People's Committee of Tr'hy commune, a program to support the development and consumption of agricultural products was signed between the Da Nang Hotel Association, the Da Nang Culinary Culture Association, and the Farmers' Association of Tr'hy commune (Tay Giang district) regarding the guaranteed purchase of agricultural products and crops from local people; aiming for sustainable tourism development.

From the local perspective, Mr. Le Hoang Linh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tr'hy commune, believes that this program will make a significant contribution to improving income and raising the living standards of the community. From the hotel perspective, Mr. Andre Pierre Gentzsch, General Director of Operations for a large international resort complex in Da Nang, believes that the clean vegetables and agricultural products from Tr'hy commune, through the skillful hands of professional chefs, will make the delicious dishes served to guests even more meaningful and carry interesting stories.

Mr. Tran Van Ta, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Tay Giang District (Quang Nam), said: "Tr'hy commune has an abundant labor force, a mild climate, and a large cultivated area. However, local people still lack knowledge and agricultural techniques. Hopefully, with the efforts of all parties, as well as the support of large food supply businesses, there will be a significant improvement in agricultural production and post-harvest preservation, aiming to build a clean, stable agricultural supply, comply with food safety regulations, and develop agriculture in Tr'hy commune in particular and Tay Giang district in general in a sustainable way."

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, developing a stable supply of clean agricultural products locally helps hotels and restaurants shorten the time spent importing raw materials from other sources, proactively creating local cuisine suitable for serving international tourists. Cuisine must be linked to cultural stories; therefore, using local ingredients and flavors to promote Da Nang - Quang Nam cuisine to tourists will not only enhance the culinary experience of hotels and restaurants but also contribute to building sustainable community values. Da Nang currently has 1,300 hotels ranging from 2 to 5 stars, so similar cooperation frameworks still have much potential.
