What's new in the National Creative Startup Festival TECHFEST 2025?

From December 12 to 14, TECHFEST 2025 took place for the first time on Hoan Kiem Lake walking street with an open space for people to experience technology and connect with investors.

At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Science and Technology on December 1, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong said that in December, the Ministry will preside over and coordinate the organization of many important science and technology activities. Notable among them are the National Innovation and Startup Festival - TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 and the 7th National Forum on Developing Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises.

TECHFEST 2025 is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee from December 12 to 14. The festival is expected to welcome 60,000 visitors in person and online, along with 1,200 investment funds, incubators, and 1,700 domestic and foreign startups.

According to Mr. Pham Hong Quat - Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises, the new point of TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 is that the event is organized in an open space model on the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, creating conditions for people to directly experience new technology and modern business models.

The festival is built in an open, vibrant and inspirational direction, aiming to spread the entrepreneurial spirit to the masses, in line with the orientation of building the National Strategy for Creative Entrepreneurship.

"With the spirit of 'creative startups are the cause of all people', based on technology, innovation and digital transformation, from 8am to 10pm, cafes and restaurants around Hoan Kiem Lake can become places to meet, connect and sign investment contracts," Mr. Pham Hong Quat shared.

The 7th National Forum on Developing Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises with the theme "The journey to create Make in Vietnam to innovate digital production, build a strong and prosperous digital Vietnam" will take place on December 25 at VinPalace Co Loa Convention Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi).

The forum is organized to continue to spread the Party and State's major policies and orientations on developing digital technology industry, strategic industry, semiconductor industry and applying artificial intelligence (AI) in the Vietnamese way; promote innovation, enhance the creative capacity of Vietnamese people; connect the digital technology business ecosystem.

The event contributes to building a strong digital technology ecosystem, supporting socio-economic sectors to master digital transformation, towards the goal of a strong and prosperous Vietnam in the digital age.

Specifically, Mr. Truong Huu Chung, Head of Investment Promotion Department, Department of Information Technology Industry, said that the highlight of the forum will be demonstrating new technologies such as robots, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), Internet of Things (IoT), digital data, information security, strategic technology products issued by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 131/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2025 promulgating the List of strategic technologies and strategic technology products.

The forum will also introduce the content of the Make in Vietnam implementation journey in the period 2020-2025 and the development orientation for the next period 2026-2030. The Ministry of Science and Technology will award certificates of merit to businesses and individuals who have actively contributed to the Make in Vietnam policy in the recent period...
