(Dan Tri) - The Hanoi Departmentof Education and Training said it has requested schools not to organize classes, including extra classes, on September 7 to avoid super typhoon Yagi.
On the morning of September 6, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee held a meeting to direct the implementation of urgent measures to ensure safety against the risk of being greatly affected by Typhoon Yagi. At the meeting, the departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Construction, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Industry and Trade, etc. said that they had prepared response plans, arranged forces and means to respond to emergency situations due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi. In particular, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that it had requested schools not to organize classes, including extra classes, on September 7. Hanoi City Police have arranged forces to be on duty to protect order and security in the city, especially at key locations. The Capital Command also directed forces and coordinated with units of the Ministry of National Defense in the area to be ready to support localities.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh requested authorities at all levels to participate in preventing and fighting storm Yagi in the spirit of not being subjective, implementing methodically, seriously and closely with the highest goal of not causing human casualties and minimizing property damage. Mr. Thanh also noted that all levels, sectors, newspapers, radio stations and localities should step up propaganda to raise people's awareness to proactively coordinate in preventing and fighting floods and storms, ensuring that there is no negligence or subjectivity, but at the same time, no panic or fear. In addition, leaders at all levels, heads of agencies and units should uphold their sense of responsibility, focus on directing the implementation of plans to prevent and fight storm Yagi proactively, synchronously and comprehensively with the motto "4 on-site". Mr. Thanh requested departments, branches and sectors to strictly implement plans and options according to their functions and tasks, strengthen coordination, focus on supporting localities and areas heavily affected by the storm and supporting people; maintain continuous operation of essential facilities and infrastructure, especially communications and healthcare .
