On the morning of December 14th, in Nam Can district, Ca Mau province, the Youth Union of Brigade 175, Command of Region 5 of the Navy, in coordination with the Hang Vinh Commune Youth Union, organized a "Volunteer Saturday" with the theme "Young people join hands to protect the environment and build a green, clean, and beautiful landscape."
Cadres and youth union members from various units organized activities to beautify the area around the memorial monument for heroes and martyrs of Hang Vinh commune; cleared bushes and trees obstructing visibility; dredged and cleared drainage ditches and canals; removed illegal advertisements, flyers, and leaflets; repaired, reinforced, and maintained flowerbeds and ornamental plants; and cleaned traffic routes.

With a proactive, enthusiastic, and dedicated spirit, cadres and youth union members from various units cleaned more than 2km of roads; collected and sorted nearly 2 tons of waste, which was then transported to the processing facility.

Lieutenant Colonel Phan Van Quang, Deputy Head of Political Affairs and Secretary of the Youth Union of Brigade 175, said: In addition to organizing general environmental sanitation work, officers and youth union members of the unit and the Hang Vinh commune Youth Union also organized propaganda and mobilization of people in the area to practice a civilized urban lifestyle; sort and dispose of waste in the designated places; and at the same time limit the use of plastic bags and single-use plastic products to protect the environment and public health.

Earlier that morning, the Youth Union branch of Brigade 175 participated in a volleyball tournament to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, organized by the Nam Can District Military Command.
