The collective economy is undergoing positive transformation.

Over the years, recognizing the role and position of the collective economy in socio-economic development, Nghe An province has issued many resolutions, projects, and action plans to innovate and improve the efficiency of cooperatives.

During the period 2020-2025, the province established 188 new cooperatives, exceeding the set target. To date, Nghe An has nearly 900 active cooperatives operating in diverse fields, accounting for 3.4% of the total number of cooperatives nationwide and ranking second in the North Central region.

In 2024, the average revenue of each cooperative reached 2.6 billion VND. The collective economic sector currently contributes 4.68% to the province's GRDP – higher than the national average.

Despite achieving many positive results, the collective economic sector in Nghe An province still faces numerous difficulties and challenges. Some cooperatives are still small in scale, lack input and output production services, and have limited access to markets. Value chain linkage models are still few, and the process of transforming operating models is slow in many places.

At the conference, five cooperatives presented their experiences in production, business, and providing agricultural services, especially in linking production and product consumption. They also made several recommendations: They suggested that relevant authorities and sectors should create conditions for cooperatives to access policies and projects for production innovation and the application of science and technology more effectively. They also recommended allocating regular budget resources to support cooperative development and the application of science and technology in production. Furthermore, they called for policies to facilitate land consolidation for cooperatives.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that departments, agencies, localities, and the Provincial Cooperative Union closely adhere to the goals and orientations of the Central Government and the province regarding the strategy for developing the collective economy as stipulated in Decision No. 340/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Local authorities need to identify the development of the collective economy as an important and ongoing political task; and continue to promote propaganda, consultation, and support for the establishment and development of cooperatives, especially in mountainous areas.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen trade promotion activities, connect supply and demand, and support cooperatives in expanding their product markets. The implementation of digital transformation needs to be carried out synchronously throughout the entire system, creating a foundation for the sustainable development of the collective economic sector in the next phase.
