On the evening of August 3, Mr. Phan Van Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Chau commune, Nghe An province, informed the press that more than 400 people were trying to control the forest fire in Tan Chau commune.

Previously, at around 5:30 p.m., immediately after discovering a forest fire in Hamlet 2, Tan Chau Commune, local authorities mobilized local forces and mobilized people and vehicles from neighboring communes to urgently deploy forest fire fighting work.
However, by 9:00 p.m. the same day, the participating forces had increased to more than 400 people, along with reinforcements from the police, forest rangers and specialized fire fighting equipment, but the forest fire was still not controlled and extinguished.
According to Phan Van Hung, the area where the fire broke out was a pine forest many years old, the terrain was difficult, the southwest wind was blowing at level 3-4 so the fire fighting work was facing many difficulties. All forces were still trying very hard but could not control the spreading fire.

Currently, local authorities are coordinating with forces to deploy teams to approach the scene, collect vegetation, and cut firebreaks with the determination to control the fire to quickly extinguish it and minimize forest damage due to the fire spreading widely.
Tan Chau commune has a forest area of more than 2,300 hectares, the locality with the largest forest area among the communes of Dien Chau district in the past.
Most of the forest area in the area is pine forest, many of which are near residential areas, increasing the risk of forest fires, especially at the peak of the hot season.
