On November 29th, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province issued Official Document No. 228/VP-PCTT, directing proactive measures to respond to and minimize damage caused by heavy rain, the risk of floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides.

Accordingly, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue in districts, cities, towns, and relevant agencies and units need to closely monitor weather forecasts and warnings of heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides; and promptly and fully inform all levels of government and the public so that they can proactively prevent, respond, and minimize damage.
Simultaneously, deploy rapid response forces to inspect and survey residential areas along rivers and streams, and low-lying areas, in order to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people in areas at high risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides.
Inspect and review operating plans to ensure the safety of reservoirs and downstream areas; deploy permanent forces to operate and regulate water levels and be ready to handle any potential situations as prescribed.
In particular, ensure that forces and resources are ready for rescue and relief operations when required; organize a serious duty roster and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense.
