On March 10th, as part of the "Journey to Explore Southern Vietnamese Culture" activity organized by Nguyen Hue High School - Thu Duc City, Tran Huu Trang Theater awarded the Lac Long Quan Theater Club for its many achievements in "School Theater" performances from 2015 to 2025.
Meritorious Artist and director Phan Quoc Kiet, Director of Tran Huu Trang Theater, emphasized: "The 'School Theater' activities organized by the Lac Long Quan Theater Club are extremely meaningful. Over the past 12 years, the club has contributed to promoting the development of programs that bring traditional Vietnamese music , Cai Luong theater, folk drama, and songs with folk influences and Vietnamese historical songs closer to students in Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc City. Meritorious Artist Phan Quoc Kiet was surprised this morning to see some short plays in the "Stage Adaptation of Literary Works" competition, performed by students from the Literature Club of Nguyen Hue High School. This demonstrates a synchronized effect that the Lac Long Quan Theater Club is aiming for: nurturing a love for literary theater among a large number of students.
Actor Huynh Quy, a member of the club for over 10 years, said: "I am fortunate to have been an inseparable part of the Lac Long Quan Theater Club from the day I graduated and started performing, pursuing my career until today. What we are proud of is that through the club's themes, the arts and culture movements, the love for theater, poetry, historical drama, Southern Vietnamese folk music and traditional musical instruments, have all been fostered from the passion of the students. In some schools, when we returned, they had already formed clubs, teams, and performing arts groups, which is our greatest happiness."

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Tien, Principal of Nguyen Hue High School in Thu Duc City, presented awards to the drama teams, including: 2 second prizes: "When Will the River Run Dry?" (Class 11A7), "The Case of Dong Ngoc Nang" (Class 11A10); 3 third prizes: "Quan Am Thi Kinh" (Class 11A8), "Eulogy for the Martyrs of Can Giuoc" (Class 11D4), "Southern Forest Land" (Class 10A9); and 6 consolation prizes.

Artist Cao My Chau said that in the early days of the "Rainbow of Childhood" program, the Lac Long Quan Theater Club was established at the City Theater to introduce musical exchange performances, promote songs written about children, and perform short plays with folk and fairy tale themes, conveying profound educational messages such as: "Eating Starfruit and Returning Gold," "Thach Sanh and Ly Thong," "The Old Fisherman and the Golden Fish," "Mai An Tiem," "Seven Wishes," "Dragon Ball," etc.
Subsequently, they organized and performed short plays and cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera) based on Vietnamese history, praising the glorious achievements of national heroes such as: "The Valiant General Nguyen Dia Lo", "Quang Trung's Uprising", "The Heroic Spirit of Southern Vietnam", "General Bui Thi Xuan", "The Trung Sisters' Uprising", "Tran Quoc Toan's Campaign", "Ngo Quyen and the Victory at Bach Dang Giang"...
"Since 2014, the club has been organizing school theater programs at secondary and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc City, and thousands of student audiences have enthusiastically received them. Each year, the club plans to perform 50 to 100 shows," said artist Cao My Chau.

In 2020, the club also collaborated with the Tinh Ca Bac Son performing arts troupe of singers Ha Chau and Bich Thuy, expanding to over 150 performances per year not only in Ho Chi Minh City but also beginning to perform in many provinces and cities such as Long An , Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Vung Tau, Hue, Gia Lai, etc. Over the past 12 years, the club has expanded its resources, bringing together young directors, actors in Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera), theater, circus, puppetry, musicians, and artisans.

The club's project for 2025 will stage 10 new plays, celebrating historical figures such as Tran Binh Trong, Yet Kieu, Le Loi, Nguyen Trai, Bui Thi Xuan, Trinh Thi Trinh, Ly Thuong Kiet, Ngo Quyen, and others.
Many actors who have joined the club have now become famous and well-known to the public, such as: Actor Chấn Cường (lead role in the films "The Boy with the Talent for Unlocking Locks", "Vietnamese Fairy Tales"), Nguyễn Kim Luận (Golden Bell Award for Traditional Vietnamese Opera 2013), Hoàng Hải (Golden Medalist at the Trần Hữu Trang Awards 2012), Phan Nhật Khánh (winner of the "Following the Idols" competition on VTV 9), Nguyễn Anh Tú (winner of Laughing Through Vietnam), Huỳnh Quý (famous for the film "Family is Number 1"), Nguyễn Phi Long (MC currently active in Da Nang and Hue), director Bảo Chu (Ban Mai Stage), actor Phạm Thành Phương (Award A in the National Stage Actor Talent Competition 2023)...
