Reduce travel pressure, have more time to celebrate Tet

Mr. Le Dinh Hoang and his wife in Ho Chi Minh City returned to work after a 9-day Tet holiday (from January 25 to February 2, 2025 (ie from December 26, Giap Thin year to January 5, At Ty year) with excitement.

Mr. Hoang said that on the morning of the 2nd day of Tet, he, his wife and 2 children took a plane from Thanh Hoa back to Ho Chi Minh City and then the whole family took a private car to Da Lat to play on the 3rd day of Tet.

This year, the Tet holiday is early and the holiday is long, so Mr. Hoang's family bought plane tickets to return home on January 13 (December 22, year of the Dragon). Because they will be home for Tet for nearly ten days, he and his wife proactively went shopping for peach blossoms, kumquat trees... to welcome spring with both paternal and maternal families in a very warm and happy atmosphere.

Mr. Hoang added that the long Tet holiday also makes traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to his hometown and vice versa very convenient, and the cost is also much cheaper.

“In previous years, my family of four spent more than 30 million VND buying round-trip air tickets for Tet, but this year, because we were able to arrange a night flight and buy tickets early, the ticket price was reduced by nearly half.

The Government's long Tet holiday has reduced pressure on traffic, and the cost of people returning home for Tet has also been saved quite a bit, not as rushed as in previous years," said Mr. Hoang.

Also in high spirits after a long Tet holiday, Ms. Le Thi Mai shared that she and her husband have lived and worked in Hanoi for more than 20 years, but there has never been a year when they celebrated Tet as leisurely as this year. On the 25th of December, which was a Tet holiday, on the morning of the 26th, her family drove to Vinh (Nghe An) to celebrate Tet with her husband's family. The time for traveling and shopping for Tet was no longer as rushed and stressful as every year.

Travel to celebrate Tet with family

For many families, this year's long Tet holiday is also an opportunity to travel for spring. Ms. Doan Mai Phuong in Cau Giay (Hanoi) shared that this year, the Tet holiday lasts 9 days, so the three of them bought plane tickets a month in advance to go to Korea to celebrate Tet with her husband from December 26.

Ms. Phuong's husband has been a mechanical expert working in Korea for more than 10 years. In previous years, he returned home to celebrate Tet with his wife and children, but this year the Tet holiday is long, so the couple decided to go to Korea with the whole family to celebrate Tet.

“The 10 days together is also an opportunity for the family to reunite and happily make up for the time they have been apart for a whole year. Hopefully next year the Tet holiday will be as long as this year,” Ms. Phuong shared.

Also taking his family on a trip during Tet, Mr. Le Viet Ba and his wife in Go Vap district (HCMC) chose Da Lat as a 5-day vacation destination before returning to Gia Lai to celebrate Tet with his wife's family.

“During the vacation in Da Lat, in addition to taking the children to tourist attractions, the family had time to drink coffee and meet friends in Da Lat, so it was very comfortable and fun. The vacation also gave family members more positive energy to enter the new year,” said Mr. Ba.
