In recent years, climate change has become increasingly serious, directly affecting surface water and groundwater resources in our country today. As a coastal city, Hai Phong has been and is being affected by climate change phenomena.
Implementing the assigned tasks, the research team aims at two goals: Assessing the impact of rising sea levels due to climate change on water resources of the Hai Phong river system and proposing solutions for managing water resources of the Hai Phong river system under the influence of rising sea levels due to climate change. Within 24 months, the team will implement research contents such as: Overview of the impact of rising sea levels on water resources; Research and assessment of natural conditions and surface water resources of the main rivers of Hai Phong, Simulation of the current status of surface water resources of Hai Phong rivers; Assessment of fluctuations in water resources (period 2000 - 2026); Assessment and forecasting the impact of rising sea levels due to climate change on Hai Phong water resources; Research and propose solutions for managing water resources of the Hai Phong river system under the influence of rising sea levels due to climate change.

At the end of the Conference, the Advisory Council unanimously approved the research task and requested the assigned unit to preside over the task of editing and completing the explanatory content for the Department of Science and Technology to submit to the City People's Committee for approval and implementation in the coming time./.
