Research and application of AI is an inevitable trend.

On May 16, the Department of Science and Technology of the province organized the event "Display - exhibition, discussion and report on the application of AI technology in production, business and life" with the participation of more than 500 delegates who are leaders of departments, branches, experts, scientists, enterprises, cooperatives, students in the province and the Southeast region. The event introduced the outstanding achievements and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in many fields.

Delegates visited the booth introducing AI application products and services of VNPT Ba Ria-Vung Tau branch at the event "Display - exhibition, discussion and report on the application of AI technology in production, business and life".

AI applications in production, business and life

Mr. Nguyen Ky, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said that AI is not only a current development trend but also a driving force that creates profound changes in all aspects of life and changes the way people think and work.

In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, science and technology activities have gradually affirmed their role as the foundation and driving force in socio-economic development. Many research topics, application models, technological solutions, especially new technologies such as AI, big data, digital transformation... have been and are being effectively deployed in the fields of production, industry, agriculture, education, healthcare, and smart cities.

“Promoting research, development and application of AI is not only an inevitable trend but also a strategic solution to enhance local competitiveness, serve sustainable development and improve people's quality of life,” said Mr. Nguyen Ky.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau has oriented AI development in the policy of science and technology development and digital transformation according to Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo . Accordingly, AI is one of the strategic technologies that need to be mastered along with big data, cloud computing, AI applications in smart operations, urban management, moving towards AI operations and 24/7 virtual assistants. The province also develops AI combined with big data to serve urban administration, forecasting, and optimize operational processes.

In addition, the province also encourages businesses to apply and test AI through policies to support innovation in AI-based business models. At the same time, it promotes international cooperation in AI development, such as attracting experts and connecting research with prestigious international organizations.

AI helps improve work performance

At the event “Display - exhibition, discussion and report on the application of AI technology in production, business and life”, there were 45 booths of enterprises, units and universities in the region participating in displaying and introducing AI application products in the fields of digital transformation, healthcare, smart transportation, education, entertainment, agriculture and AI robots. The organizing committee also introduced the AI ​​community of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

Reporters and experts also shared an overview of AI development trends in the world, in the country in general and in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in particular, AI application solutions in management, operation and development of enterprises, agencies, units, social development, economy, smart cities...

Ms. Nguyen Doan Lieu Thu, Director of Ky Thu Production and Trading Company Limited (Phuoc Hai Town, Long Dat District) said that the company has applied AI to business activities such as: using AI to write scripts, create product promotion clips on Facebook, TikTok, plan for employees to go to sell, market products, take care of customers, draft contracts, track orders, make reports... Thanks to that, labor productivity and work efficiency of company employees have increased significantly.

In order to support businesses in improving their digital capacity, in 2025, the Department of Science and Technology will continue to coordinate with experts to organize seminars and advanced training courses on AI technology application, promote innovation in businesses, equip them with necessary knowledge and skills to help businesses effectively exploit digital technology in production and business activities, thereby helping to improve productivity and competitiveness in the province.
