Hiep Hoa 14 area (Hiep Hoa ward) has 165 households and 544 residents (Catholics account for over 60%). As the Party branch secretary, head of the area, and a respected figure in the Catholic community, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy has consistently monitored the people's situation, actively propagated and mobilized them to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, State policies and laws, and promote democracy and internal resources within the people to develop socio -economic conditions and build advanced new rural areas.
Over the past five years, residents in the neighborhood have voluntarily contributed over 500 million VND and nearly 800 square meters of land to upgrade and expand six village roads and alleys, facilitating travel and the transportation of agricultural products and supplies. To date, there are no longer any impoverished households in the area, and the percentage of well-off households exceeds 70%. Security and order in the neighborhood are ensured, and the annual military recruitment targets are consistently met at 100%. The "All People United in Building a Culturally Rich Life" movement is increasingly gaining depth, with over 95% of households recognized as culturally exemplary families.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy stated: "To build credibility with the people, I always set a good example in my work and daily life. The neighborhood leader strictly adheres to regulations regarding the public posting of information, and publicly discloses the full list of households contributing to humanitarian and charitable funds, as well as other fundraising activities in the residential area. Over the past period, there have been no complaints or suggestions from the people regarding activities in the neighborhood."
As the parish priest and dean of Hon Gai parish, Father Duong Huu Tinh is very active in calling for and connecting the generosity of the community near and far during important holidays and emergency fundraising campaigns due to natural disasters and epidemics. Father Duong Huu Tinh shared: "We hope that through the charitable activities of the parishes and sub-parishes in the area, we can help many families in difficult circumstances, provide them with spiritual and material support, help them overcome their hardships and feelings of inferiority, and create conditions for them to integrate into the community and have faith and love for life."
Over the past four years, Hon Gai parish has mobilized resources and donated 97 wheelchairs to people with disabilities, and provided over 40 tons of rice to needy households in the communes and wards of Quang La, Binh Lieu, Ba Che, Hong Gai, Ha Long (Quang Ninh), and Chi Linh Leprosy Hospital (Hai Phong), totaling over 2.4 billion VND. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the parish donated hundreds of rapid test kits to the forces on duty in the province; and provided 230 million VND to help households overcome the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 in 2024. In August 2025, the parish donated 120 million VND to Lao Cai province to help overcome the consequences of floods; and donated 5 million VND to the people of Cuba, demonstrating solidarity and mutual support between the two nations.
For many years, Mr. Do Van Binh, the head of the Mong Cai parish (Xuan Ninh parish), has always received the trust of the parishioners. He is always enthusiastic and responsible in his work, encouraging parishioners to live virtuous lives, respect God, and love their country. To contribute to maintaining security and order in the border region, he has mobilized parishioners to actively participate in the "5 No's" movement (no theft, no gambling, no prostitution, no drug addiction, no drug trafficking); and has closely coordinated with border guards and police forces to promptly detect and prevent many cases of illegal fishing, smuggling, and transportation of prohibited goods across the border.
Quang Ninh currently has over 45,000 Catholic believers at 1 8 parish and 3 9 parish . Through numerous community service activities, respected individuals within the Catholic community are contributing. Strengthening national unity and solidarity , building "Peaceful parishes and communities - Culturally rich families"...
