Mr. Le Binh, Head of Village 5, Phuoc Hiep Commune, said that from the night of October 25 until this morning, the amount of rain here was very heavy, possibly up to more than 200mm.
From 5am on October 26, at km66+600 of National Highway 14E, a large landslide occurred on the red slope passing through the village, isolating all 77 households with nearly 300 people of the village from the commune. Currently, traffic on this route is suspended.
Immediately after the landslide occurred, the 10-member shock force of village 5 was on duty on both sides of the road to warn people and vehicles not to pass.
By 7am this morning, October 26, the construction unit on this route, Tan Hoang Long Company, had brought in 2 excavators and a bulldozer to clear the landslide. However, due to the heavy rainfall, the landslide continued on the positive slope, causing unsafety, so the construction unit temporarily stopped repairing.

At km84+700 of National Highway 14E, the border between Phuoc Hiep and Kham Duc communes, this morning, more than 3,000 cubic meters of rock and soil collapsed onto the road, completely cutting off the two localities. All people and vehicles cannot pass through this only road.
Present at the landslide site from km84+650 to km84+750, Mr. Vu The Hiep, Vice Chairman of Phuoc Hiep Commune People's Committee, said that the commune had warned about this location for a long time.
On September 26, the commune issued document No. 308 to Project Management Board 4 (the investor of National Highway 14E) and Dai Hong Phuc Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (the contractor) regarding the landslide situation on the positive slope and the possible risk of separation and isolation.
While the investor and the construction unit have not yet found a feasible solution, this morning a serious landslide occurred, completely separating Phuoc Hiep commune from Kham Duc commune.

Currently, Phuoc Hiep commune has put up warning lines and sent shock troops to be on standby at key locations and landslide points to warn people and vehicles not to travel on this route.
With heavy rain continuing, this landslide will certainly be impassable for the next few days.

Due to the impact of heavy rain, from 8:00 a.m. this morning, Phuoc Hiep commune activated 10 disaster prevention and control teams, urgently evacuating 33 households in village 4 to take temporary shelter at the village's communal house.
Mr. Ho Van Cau, village 4, Phuoc Hiep commune said: "There is a crack behind the village 2m wide and more than 100m long, very dangerous, so when there was information about heavy rain and the local government mobilized, my family and the villagers packed up their belongings and went to the village house to take shelter, and when the rain stopped, we would return."
Vice Chairman of Phuoc Hiep Commune People's Committee Vu The Hiep added that currently, heavy rain continues, the commune has been isolated at both ends, from Phuoc Tra commune up and Kham Duc commune down, all are cut off.
Currently, in addition to Hamlet 4 relocating 7 households along the Truong River, Blaau residential area (Hamlet 7) also relocated 4 households to the headquarters of the People's Committee of Phuoc Hiep Commune. These households are at very high risk of insecurity because the area has had mountain cracks and riverbank landslides for many years, but there are no conditions to arrange new housing.
