Which workers are exempt from train and flight tickets during the Lunar New Year 2026?

2,500 train and flight tickets and 2,500 gifts were given to union members on the occasion of Tet 2026.

According to Plan No. 34/KH-TLĐ dated October 15, 2025 on organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, union members and workers working under labor contracts and work contracts at units and enterprises that have paid union fees before October 31, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province, Tay Ninh province; whose hometowns are in provinces from Da Nang to the North, will be supported with means of transportation to return home to celebrate Tet.

Accordingly, in the organization of "Union Flight - Spring 2026" , the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) allocated 2,000 two-way tickets and 2,000 gifts worth VND 300,000/gift (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation, Tay Ninh Provincial Labor Federation, and Vietnam Railway Labor Union to support union members and workers to return home for Tet.

Time from February 12 to 16, 2025 (ie December 25 to 29, At Ty year).

The departure airport is Tan Son Nhat (HCMC) and the arrival airport is Noi Bai ( Hanoi ), Vinh (Nghe An province), Phu Bai (Hue city). Each employee is allowed to be accompanied by 1 person (husband/wife, father, mother, child).

Regarding the organization of "Union Train - Spring 2026" , the General Confederation allocated 500 one-way air tickets and 500 gifts worth 300,000 VND/gift (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation, Tay Ninh Provincial Labor Federation to support union members and workers to return home for Tet.

Time from South to North (before Lunar New Year), from February 10 to 16, 2025 (ie December 23 to 29, year of At Ty); time from North to South (after Lunar New Year), from February 20 to March 1, 2026 (ie January 4 to 13, year of Binh Ngo).

Locations at Southern stations: Saigon Station, Di An Station (HCMC); Bien Hoa Station (Dong Nai Province); locations at Northern stations: Stations from Da Nang to Hanoi. Each employee or worker is allowed to be accompanied by no more than 3 people (husband/wife, father, mother, children).

Under what conditions can employees receive support?

Workers and employees in difficult circumstances, low income , priority given to workers and employees who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, have had their working hours reduced, lost their jobs, are owed wages and bonuses; are relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution, ethnic minorities, and areas affected by natural disasters.
Unions and employees with outstanding achievements in production, business or participating in union activities have been awarded Certificates of Merit and awards by the Provincial and Municipal Labor Federations, Central Industry Unions, Economic Group Unions and General Corporation Unions under the General Confederation of Labor or higher in the period 2020 - 2025.
Union members and employees must comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies , and the rules and regulations of the enterprise and locality where they reside. Actively participate in activities organized by the Union.
Priority is given to Union members and employees who have not returned home for Tet for many years : 3 years or more for Union members and employees receiving support for "Union Flight - Spring 2026"; 2 years or more for Union members and employees receiving support for "Union Train - Spring 2026".
Units and employees who want to return to their hometowns to celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year and commit to returning to work at the enterprise after the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday ends according to the schedule of the unit or enterprise.

Funding for the programs comes from the General Confederation of Labor's financial resources and socialized sources, including support from partners who have signed cooperation agreements. Mobilizing diverse resources helps this year's program continue to maintain its large scale, providing substantial support to thousands of workers.

This activity aims to reduce the financial burden for union members and workers who are still facing difficulties or have excellent achievements in labor and production; affirm the role, responsibility and comprehensive care of the trade union organization for union members and workers; contribute to ensuring traffic safety during the Lunar New Year...

This year, the scale and organization are considered more methodical, humane and substantial, aiming at the goal of not letting any worker stay in the city alone to celebrate Tet.
