“Origin” – retrospective exhibition of female painter To Bich Hai

On the afternoon of March 7, 2025, the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Origin" by overseas Vietnamese artist To Bich Hai took place at the Vietnam Women's Museum. The exhibition was organized by the Vietnam Women's Museum in collaboration with Le Ba Dang Memorial Space and Lan Tinh Foundation, on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025).

On the afternoon of March 7, 2025, the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Origins" by Vietnamese-American female artist To Bich Hai took place at the Vietnam Women's Museum. The exhibition was organized by the Vietnam Women's Museum in collaboration with the Le Ba Dang Memorial Space and the Lan Tinh Foundation, to commemorate the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2025).

The exhibition "Origins" showcases paintings, sculptures, and installation art by artist To Bich Hai, offering a unique perspective on the connection between humanity and nature, between tradition and modernity. This is not only the artistic journey of a female artist living abroad, but also a message about the enduring value of Vietnamese culture in the context of integration.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Director of the Vietnam Women's Museum, emphasized:
“With a mission to honor and spread the cultural values ​​of Vietnamese women, the Museum always focuses on introducing unique artistic stories to the public. The exhibition 'Origins' not only showcases the creative talent of a Vietnamese-American female artist, but also demonstrates the power of art in connecting people with their national roots.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Director of the Vietnam Women's Museum, delivered the opening speech at the event.

Artist Tô Bích Hải, visibly moved, shared:
“Although I have been away from my homeland for over 60 years, Vietnam has always been an endless source of inspiration for me. Every work I create carries the essence of my homeland, of childhood memories by the rivers and mountains, and stories about the nature and people of Vietnam. The exhibition “Origins” can be said to be a journey following the major turning points in my career with many different materials; what I want to say most about “Origins” I have expressed in my works .”

At the opening ceremony, artist To Bich Hai donated two representative paintings from her artistic career to the Vietnam Women's Museum. This meaningful gift not only enriches the museum's art collection but also expresses her deep gratitude to her homeland.

The "Origins" exhibition presents to the public unique works expressed through various materials such as oil paint, graphite, wood sculpture, and installation art. In particular, the series of works "Listening to the Stones Whisper" and "Listening to the Trees Sigh" demonstrate the profound connection between humanity and nature, while also evoking reflections on memory, origins, and national identity.

The exhibition is open from March 7th to March 25th, 2025 at the Vietnam Women's Museum.
