Compared to the other 3 "climbers" of the final round of the Road to Olympia this year, Tran Trung Kien is the "racer" who attracts attention because he is only a student from a district school, but is the first student from Phu Yen to reach the final round of this exciting competition for students nationwide.

Tran Trung Kien is a special contestant to be present in the final round of the first quarter thanks to having the second highest score in the weekly and monthly rounds. Compared to the opponents, you are the only contestant who has not won the laurel wreath.

In the end, Kien won with 235 points, bringing the first television bridge to Phu Yen and to the school he was attending.

These days, Kien is concentrating on studying to prepare for the final competition. It is expected that on October 10, Kien, his family, homeroom teacher and the principal of Le Hong Phong High School will go to Hanoi to attend the final match on October 13.

"The school established an advisory board to help me review. In addition to equipping me with knowledge, I also prepared myself mentally to "fight" with all my might to respond to the expectations, support, and help of my relatives, teachers, friends, and the people of Phu Yen" - Kien confided.

Coming to the final race, in addition to preparing knowledge, Kien also brought lucky mascots such as teddy bears given by friends, or a wooden pencil box engraved with words given by his sister.

Kien revealed these are lucky items that helped him win previous races.

"As the exam day approaches, I feel quite nervous but also very happy. After studying, I usually spend time playing soccer to relax, learn more about social knowledge as well as plan out the final round's competition strategy," Kien said.

Ms. Tran Thi Bich Loan (48 years old, Kien's mother) said that family is always the rear and support for you in the final round.

"Every time Kien takes an exam, our family goes along to support and take care of him. We respect and support all of his decisions and efforts. We keep all the certificates and awards that Kien has received or achieved since he was a child, displaying them in a glass cabinet as a source of pride," Mrs. Loan said.

Identifying the "peak performance point"

Mr. Chau Van Toc, Kien's homeroom teacher at Le Hong Phong High School, said that in addition to excelling in reaching the final round of Road to Olympia, Tran Trung Kien also achieved the title of "3 Good Students" at the Central Youth Union level.

According to the homeroom teacher, the school's teachers also supported and reviewed knowledge for Kien, but the results were mainly from Kien's self-study and research.

"I hope Kien can identify his 'peak performance point,' meaning that everyone's performance has its highs and lows… but he must time it so that by the final day of the Road to Olympia competition, this peak performance is at its highest. Kien must be in his best condition and possess all three elements: health, mental state, and ability. The school and the province have high expectations and are very proud of him," Mr. Toc shared.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Le Thuy - Principal of Le Hong Phong High School, on October 13, the television bridge in Phu Yen province will be held at Thap Nghinh Phong Square (Tuy Hoa City). The school has arranged buses to pick up 1,470 students to come here to cheer Kien's spirit.

In addition, the school also prepares performances inspired by Bài Chòi, incorporating landmarks of Phú Yên province… Currently, the preparation work is almost ready.

"The school also created all the necessary conditions, such as keeping the library open all the time so that Kien could come and read books to gain more knowledge and update himself on current events and social issues. Recently, the school also held a farewell ceremony for him, with teachers and parents bidding him farewell as he embarked on his journey to participate in the 'Road to Olympia' competition, as a way of encouraging him and wishing him good luck," Ms. Thuy said.

The Phú Yên branch of the event was held at Nghinh Phong Square.

The Department of Education and Training of Phu Yen province has sent an official dispatch to units regarding the coordination in producing a live television broadcast of the Road to Olympia 2024 program in Phu Yen province.

The live broadcast will take place at 8:30 AM on October 13th at Nghinh Phong Tower Square, where a stage with a sound system and LED screen will also be set up.

In addition to provincial and departmental leaders, nearly 5,000 high school students from schools across Phu Yen province also attended.
