In Cu Chi district, there are 3 industrial livestock slaughterhouses, including: Loc An Livestock Slaughterhouse of Loc An Food Co., Ltd., with an average slaughtering capacity of 900-1,000 animals/day; an increase of about 20% compared to before April 1, 2023; and the Livestock Slaughterhouse and Food Processing Plant of Saigon Agricultural Corporation Limited, with an average slaughtering capacity of 50-80 animals/day.

The An Ha livestock slaughterhouse and food processing plant of An Ha Services Co., Ltd. has an average slaughtering capacity of 1,900 - 2,300 animals per day.

In Hoc Mon district: The Xuan Thoi Thuong livestock slaughterhouse of Hoc Mon Food Processing Joint Stock Company has an average slaughtering capacity of 1,900 - 2,100 animals per day.

In Binh Thanh District: The slaughterhouse of Vietnam Livestock Industry Corporation (Vissan): average slaughtering capacity of 400-500 animals/day; equivalent to the company's previous slaughtering volume.

" Overall, the supply of pork to the city market has not fluctuated significantly compared to the period before April 1st, remaining relatively stable, with an average output of about 9,500 - 10,000 pigs per day," Mr. Hiep said.

According to Mr. Hiep, the supply of pigs for slaughter in the area has decreased by about 700-1,200 pigs per day (a decrease of about 10-15%), because some livestock owners have moved to Long An and Binh Duong provinces for slaughter or switched to the meat business, instead of buying live pigs for slaughter.

At the same time, the amount of pork brought from the provinces to the city for consumption increased by about 500-1,300 pigs (an increase of about 15-20%).

From April 1st, eight manual livestock slaughtering facilities and areas in the city have ceased operations, including: Binh Tan Central slaughterhouse (Binh Tan district); Phuoc Kien slaughterhouse (Nha Be district); Tan Phu Trung, Hoa Phu, Phu Hoa Dong, Tan Thanh Dong, Xuyen A slaughterhouses (Cu Chi district) and the manual slaughtering area of Hoc Mon Food Processing Joint Stock Company (Hoc Mon district).

Specifically, the Trung Tuyen slaughterhouse in Can Gio district continues to operate, slaughtering an average of 20-30 pigs per day to serve the consumption needs of the people of Can Gio district, in accordance with Decision No. 231/QD-UBND.
