On November 29, Phi Thanh Thao received a great honor when representing the Vietnamese sports delegation to give an oath-taking speech at the departure ceremony for the 33rd SEA Games. This honor is thanks to the efforts and dedication of the 21-year-old athlete over the past 5 years, when she has won many glories in domestic and international arenas for Vietnamese shooting in particular and Vietnamese sports in general.

At the 31st SEA Games (2022) held at home, Phi Thanh Thao won the gold medal in the 10m rifle 3 positions and the silver medal in the women's 10m rifle when she was only 18 years old.

Not long ago, on October 10, the 2004-born shooter won the women's 10m air rifle event at the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship, held in Thailand. With a total of 250.1 points, Phi Thanh Thao was recognized by the Organizing Committee as a new Southeast Asian record in this category.

Sharing quickly with Dan Tri , the female athlete who was recently promoted to first lieutenant said that she and her teammates are working hard to practice in the final days to achieve the best performance at the tournament in Thailand this year.

With the goal of 7-8 gold medals for Vietnamese shooting, Thanh Thao is expected to contribute to helping the Vietnamese shooting team complete this target which is predicted to be very difficult and challenging.

The 33rd SEA Games shooting competition will have 30 events. The shooting competition program includes 6 men's events, 8 women's events, and 2 mixed events. The flying disc competition includes 4 men's events and 2 women's events for flying disc shooting. The applied shooting competition includes 4 men's events and 4 women's events.
