At Children's Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, more than 30 medical staff from Children's Hospital 2, Trung Vuong Hospital, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital, Tan Phu Hospital, and Le Van Viet Hospital gathered and busily packed 1,000 "Family Medicine Kits" to provide relief to people in the North affected by Typhoon Yagi .

According to Pharmacist Vo Cong Nhan, Head of the Pharmacy Department at Children's Hospital 2, the bags of medicine were transported to the airport and shipped by air to Bac Kan province on the afternoon of September 14th.

Representatives in Bac Kan will receive and distribute these medicines to local areas promptly for the people. These are common medicines used to treat common illnesses after floods, and are very user-friendly.

Medical kits are being prepared at Children's Hospital 2 to be delivered promptly to people in flood-affected areas.

“Medicines such as allergy medication, painkillers, fever reducers, rehydration solutions, diarrhea medication, skin disease medication, and skin antiseptics are stored in waterproof zip-lock bags. Each bag of medicine will come with specific instructions for use to help people use them conveniently and avoid confusion,” Mr. Nhan said.

Dr. Nguyen Truc Phuong, Deputy Head of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Tan Phu District Hospital, said that in the coming time, the hospital will organize a charity fundraising program and be ready to provide support when assistance is announced. The hospital will arrange personnel from appropriate specialties to support those affected by the disaster.

“The hospital has many staff members from the North. However, they haven't had the opportunity to directly support their compatriots during this time. So, through this program, they want to contribute their efforts to support the people, showing their love for their homeland. Hopefully, these medicines will help alleviate some of the difficulties caused by the natural disaster,” shared Dr. Truc Phuong.

Earlier, on the night of September 13th, 2,500 bags of medicine from the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, Binh Dan Hospital, Go Vap District Hospital, etc., were transported to the airport to be sent to the affected provinces. On September 14th, many more packages of medicine arrived at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) and are en route to people in the North affected by Typhoon No. 3.

49 hospitals are ready with support teams.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, by September 15th at the latest, they will ensure that 30,000 bags of medicine are delivered directly to people in flood-affected areas. On September 14th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also sent a document to the Departments of Health of 10 provinces severely affected by Typhoon No. 3, regarding their readiness to provide medical support.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the city does not yet fully understand the medicine needs of people in flood-affected provinces, so the first phase of support is planned to provide each province with 1,000 medicine bags. If the provincial Departments of Health need a larger quantity than initially planned, they are requested to inform the Departments of Health of their needs so that support can be provided.
