SEA Games 33 Diary, December 10th: Vietnam wins its first medal.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The first day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games promises an explosive performance from the Vietnamese sports delegation as many of its strong events such as swimming, Jujitsu, and rowing take to the field.

On December 10, 32 sets of medals were awarded and Vietnamese sports have the right to hope in many important events.

Canoeing promises to be a shining event for Nguyen Thi Huong, who will compete in two women's 500m events that have dominated Southeast Asia. Nguyen Thi Huong also appeared and left her mark at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Taekwondo enters 6 finals starting at 2 PM, where Vietnamese sports remain the top contender despite strong competition from host country Thailand.

Swimming takes place in the morning and the finals at 6pm, with Tran Hung Nguyen in the men's 200m medley and other hopefuls such as Jeremie Luong and Nguyen Quang Thuan standing out.

Jujitsu placed high hopes on Dao Hong Son to make his mark in the men's 62kg category. In addition, Vietnamese sports added medals in petanque, mountain biking, and qualifying events in badminton, chess, and esports.
