On the morning of September 3, Cho Ray Hospital reported data on professional activities at the unit during the recent holiday (from August 30 to September 2).
Accordingly, during the holidays, Cho Ray Hospital received a total of 1,082 emergency patients, including 495 surgical cases.
Regarding the causes, there were 182 cases of traffic accidents, 42 cases of domestic accidents, 15 cases of emergency hospitalization due to injuries and 17 cases of poisoning. Of these, there was 1 case of drug poisoning and 16 cases of poisoning due to snake, centipede bites and bee stings.
During the 4-day holiday, the entire hospital had more than 160 emergency surgeries, including 75 cases transferred from the Emergency Department (an average of 19 cases/day).
The most emergency surgical specialties are Gastroenterology (55 cases), Neurology (37 cases), Orthopedics (31 cases), followed by ENT and Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery (both 10 cases)...

Nearly 900 cases were discharged during the holiday. As of 7am on September 3, Cho Ray Hospital had more than 1,780 cases still being treated.
Overall, the number of patients admitted to Cho Ray Hospital for emergency treatment this year is equivalent to the September 2 holiday last year, while the number of inpatients after the holiday decreased by more than 4% compared to the same period in 2024.
The number of surgical patients and the amount of blood used also decreased by 10.6% and 22% respectively compared to last year's holiday.
