The Hoa Binh Vegetable and Fruit Processing Plant, Packaging and Warehousing Complex, and Steel Components Trading Company (located in Dong Tam commune, Lac Thuy district, Hoa Binh province) with a total investment of nearly 160 billion VND, commenced construction in January 2024.
In early May, the Hoa Binh Fruit and Vegetable Processing Plant, located right next to the Dong Tam Industrial Cluster and bordering Ha Nam province, spans over 10 hectares. Construction activity was bustling with numerous machines and vehicles.
When asked, many residents and workers expressed excitement upon learning that construction of the factory had begun.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (42 years old, residing in Lac Thuy district) said that in recent years, many domestic and foreign businesses have invested in Hoa Binh, thereby helping people find jobs without having to travel far.
"Hopefully, after the factory is completed, it will create many quality jobs for local people, especially workers in mountainous districts like Lac Thuy, Kim Boi, and Yen Thuy...", Mr. Nam said.
Meanwhile, Ms. Bui Thi Linh (28 years old, residing in Kim Boi district), currently working in Hanoi with a salary of 8 million VND/month, often has to be away from home and her children. Therefore, she hopes that the fruit and vegetable processing factory will be completed soon so that she can have the opportunity to return to work near home and have a stable life.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Anh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tay Ha Noi Construction Materials Joint Stock Company (the project's investor) - informed that the project commenced in early 2024 and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025. Upon completion, the factory will provide permanent employment for approximately 200 employees and over 1,000 seasonal workers.
According to Mr. Tien Anh, the company currently has one factory in Ha Nam province that has been operating for over 15 years, with 100 official workers earning approximately 8 million VND per month, and seasonal workers (9 months/year) sometimes numbering up to 1,000 people with incomes ranging from 5-8 million VND.
“Hoa Binh has a great advantage in fruit trees, so businesses will take advantage of this to produce high-quality products that meet market demands. According to the plan, the products will be exported to major economies around the world such as the UK, France, Germany, the US, Canada, Japan, and South Korea…”, Mr. Tien Anh said.
Mr. Vu Duc Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Hoa Binh province, assessed that this is the largest-scale fruit and vegetable processing plant project in the locality to date.
It is expected that once operational, it will create jobs for local people, increase revenue for the state budget, and contribute to the economic restructuring of the locality in particular and the region in general.
