Many schools with low benchmark scores have members participating in the national excellent student exam.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - This year, high schools with the lowest entrance exam scores for 10th grade in Ho Chi Minh City, such as Tan Tuc and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, have students participating in the national excellent student competition for the first time.

On the morning of December 19th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to send off the Ho Chi Minh City team of outstanding students to participate in the national high school student excellence competition for the 2024-2025 school year.

This year, the entire city has 236 outstanding students who won first prize from 12 teams in subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, literature, history, geography, English, French, Chinese, and Japanese, selected to be part of the Ho Chi Minh City team of outstanding students participating in the national excellent student competition.

The students participating in the team come from the following specialized high schools: Le Hong Phong, Tran Dai Nghia, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Gia Dinh, Mac Dinh Chi, Tran Phu, Tran Van Giau, Phu Nhuan, Tan Tuc, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen, Le Quy Don, Marie Curie, Trung Vuong, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Hoang Hoa Tham, and Duc Tri Secondary and High School.

Besides students from specialized high schools and top-tier schools, this year many high schools with lower entrance exam scores for 10th grade have students participating in the national excellent student competition.

For example, Tan Tuc High School had an entrance exam cutoff score of 14 points for 10th grade last year, followed by Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School with 15.5 points. Next, Hoang Hoa Tham High School had 18.25 points, and Ngo Quyen High School had 18.75 points.

Notably, this year in Ho Chi Minh City, there is a private school with students participating in the national academic excellence competition: Duc Tri Secondary and High School.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Ho Chi Minh City won 110 national-level awards for outstanding students, ranking second nationwide, only after Hanoi .
