Who are the talented young Vietnamese people with outstanding achievements in 2023?

Le Xuan Manh - the champion of the 2023 Road to Olympia competition, Duy Dao - the first Vietnamese person to receive a Grammy nomination, Diep Thi Hien - one of the 20 outstanding female students nationwide to receive the 2023 Vietnam Science and Technology Female Student Award for winning the 2023 Robocon competition, Le Dinh Long Vu - a player included in the list of 60 promising young talents in world football in 2023, and the twins Truong Thao My and Truong Thao My, along with the Vietnamese 3x3 basketball team, won the first gold medal in the history of the SEA Games . These are young people who impressed over the past year thanks to their talent and outstanding achievements in their respective fields. In the prestigious high school knowledge competition "Road to Olympia," Le Xuan Manh (born in 2006, from Ham Rong High School, Thanh Hoa province ) became the first champion of Thanh Hoa province in 23 years. The student impressed by starting with the lowest score (10 points) but then making an impressive comeback and turning the tide in the decisive moment. Besides the 24K gold-plated laurel wreath, the 2023 Olympia champion received a prize worth 50,000 USD (approximately 1.2 billion VND) – the highest prize ever awarded in the program (Photo: Manh Quan). According to Le Xuan Manh's mother, from a young age, the boy showed exceptional abilities: he could speak at one year old, walk at two, and read on his own at three. Currently, he is a student on the math team but excels in all subjects, and also has a passion for history and literature. In early November, the album "Gieo" by the band Ngọt was unexpectedly nominated for the most prestigious music award on the planet - the "Grammy 2024". The nomination, in the "Best Boxset or Special Limited Edition Package" category, was awarded to creative director and designer Duy Đào (Đào Đức Duy, born 1995, Hanoi) - who directed and designed the album. Duy Dao comes from a family of artists, with his grandfather being People's Artist Dao Duc - the first and most outstanding art director/designer of Vietnam's film studio - and his father being the renowned painter Dao Hai Phong. He graduated with honors from the Art Center College of Design in California, USA - a top 10 design school in the world. Before his Grammy nomination, Duy Dao led the design of Vinamilk's new brand identity, which caused a sensation in July after nearly five decades. Diep Thi Hien (born 2002, Bac Giang) - a final-year student in Electronics and Telecommunications at Hanoi University of Industry - is one of 20 outstanding female students nationwide to receive the "Vietnam Science and Technology Female Student Award 2023". This award is given to female students with excellent academic and research achievements in specific fields of science and technology. At school, Diep Thi Hien is a member of the Executive Committee of the Electronics Faculty's Student Union, Secretary of the Electronics 6 - K15 Student Union, Hanoi University of Industry. In addition, as the Head of the FEA Academic Club of the Electronics Faculty, she is always a shining example with a cumulative GPA of 3.34/4.0 and a training score of 92/100. The student shared that in the future, she will continue to study, research, improve her professional knowledge, and pursue her passion for engineering. In early October, The Guardian, a leading British newspaper, published a list of 60 promising young talents in world football for 2023. Surprisingly, midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu (born in 2006, Ha Tinh province) was included. The prestigious British newspaper commented on the 17-year-old's talent: "Vietnamese football produces many technically gifted players with good speed and the ability to handle the ball with both feet. Long Vu, in particular, has brought much excitement to fans" (Photo: The Guardian). Le Dinh Long Vu currently plays for Song Lam Nghe An FC. This year, the young midfielder shone at the U17 Asian Championship, and was even called up to the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the U23 Asian Championship. Wearing the U21 Song Lam Nghe An jersey, Long Vu also contributed to the team winning the runner-up position in the national U21 championship. The speed and dribbling ability of the 17-year-old midfielder have led to comparisons with Manchester City star Phil Foden. In early May, twin sisters Truong Thao My (Kayleigh Truong) and Truong Thao Vy (Kaylynne Truong) made a strong impression when they won the first ever gold medal in 3x3 basketball history with the Vietnamese national team at the SEA Games. Born in 2001, the sisters grew up in Houston, Texas, USA. My is the older sister, and Vy is the younger. The twin sisters made their debut for Vietnam at the "ABL 3x3 International Champions Cup" (ABL ICC 2022), where they won the championship. Besides their impressive basketball skills, the twins also have excellent academic achievements.
