With 23 years of dedication to the career of “cultivating people”, teacher Nguyen Thi Que has worked for 22 years at Thanh Hoa Agricultural College. Every time she talks about her journey to becoming a teacher and her childhood memories, she cannot help but feel emotional.

Born with a disabled right arm, Nguyen Thi Que encountered many difficulties in her daily life. During her school years, Que sometimes felt self-conscious and afraid that people would look at her and judge her differently from others. However, with the support of her family and her own efforts, Que gradually regained her confidence and always tried to study well to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher. Not only is she full of positive energy, Que also surprised many people by being admitted to two universities at the same time.

In 2002, after graduating from the Faculty of Political Education, Hanoi Pedagogical University 1, Nguyen Thi Que was assigned to work at Yen Dinh 3 High School, then transferred to Thanh Hoa Agricultural College. No matter what environment she is in, she always completes her assigned tasks well. To create excitement for students in her lessons, she always combines theory and practice, actively applying science and technology to each lesson, thereby helping students acquire knowledge quickly and effectively.

Not only is she a teacher with good professional qualifications, with the desire for everyone to eat delicious, nutritious and safe food, she also built the culinary brand "Que Food" which regularly creates jobs for 5 workers.

“For normal people, rising from nothing is not simple, but for people with disabilities it is many times more difficult, so it requires will, perseverance and determination. I am always proactive in all my work, I do not want to be dependent, so I am determined to do everything I can to create the best version of myself,” teacher Nguyen Thi Que confided.

At Thanh Vocational School, for disabled and especially disadvantaged youth in Thanh Hoa, teacher Le Thanh Tung has become a beautiful image, inspiring the spirit of overcoming difficulties and rising up. Despite his leg disability, walking is very difficult, but he does not complain, is pessimistic, or discouraged, but is always optimistic, transmitting positive energy to students as well as everyone around him. Tung's childhood is associated with daily acupuncture and therapy sessions. The needles are piercing to the bone marrow, but the boy Tung never complains, but always tries to treat with the hope that his legs will be normal like his friends. However, Tung's illness does not improve, watching his friends playing and running, the boy Tung cannot help but feel inferior, sad and guilty. In a conversation with us, teacher Le Thanh Tung shared: “Maybe I was unlucky with my legs, but God was kind enough to give me normal intelligence. Growing up, realizing my own differences, I always strived and determined to study hard. Because, only the path of studying can help me have a better life.”

In 2009, after graduating from Vinh Pedagogical University, Tung worked for 2 years at a private company and in 2011 he applied for a job at Thanh Hoa Vocational College for Disabled and Particularly Difficult Youth. Being a disabled person, when interacting with students from the very first day, Tung saw his own shadow in the past, which was the inferiority complex, self-consciousness, and not daring to surpass themselves of many students. Therefore, in addition to teaching cultural knowledge, teacher Tung is always close to, encouraging and motivating students to always strive to have a good future.

To quickly catch up with the work, over the past 14 years, teacher Le Thanh Tung has always strived every day, improving his knowledge, learning about his profession and having innovative thinking in teaching methods. He has turned seemingly dry knowledge into stories and situations, thereby imparting useful knowledge to help students remember and understand easily.

Nguyen Thi Huyen in Yen Truong commune said: "For each student, the teacher often has different teaching methods, instructing each student until they understand the lesson. The teacher is a shining example for us to learn and follow in terms of optimism and determination to succeed in life."

The stories of teacher Nguyen Thi Que and teacher Le Thanh Tung are just two of many teachers with disabilities. With their love for their profession and their students, they have been working hard every day to diligently impart knowledge to their students, igniting in them a love of learning, overcoming themselves, reaching the end of their dreams and ambitions to live a meaningful life.
