"The schools that are being built are not just normal schools but also the beliefs and aspirations of students and parents in border communes across the country; ensuring that students in border communes in mainland areas enjoy appropriate boarding and semi-boarding policies. Localities and relevant sectors need to develop plans to arrange teachers, train teachers in ethnic languages; maintain school operations, and provide allowances for teachers; and have plans for schools across the country to form sister schools with schools in border communes" - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh .

Ms. Trinh Thi Huong, Principal of Nguyen Trai Primary School (Ia Lop Commune) shared: “Ia Lop is a large border commune with a sparse population, with some residential areas more than 30km from the school. It is very difficult for children to travel. In the rainy season, the water rises, in the dry season it is sunny and dusty, and parents are busy working on the fields, so many children easily drop out of school. When there is a boarding school, children have a stable place to eat and live, making their studies more convenient. Teachers are also assured in their work, devoting all their heart to their profession.”

With the inter-level boarding model, students not only study continuously but also practice life skills, form an independent lifestyle, solidarity, love and sharing under the guidance of teachers. This is also a condition for schools to effectively implement Resolution 71 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.

Nong Chan Hien, a student at Nguyen Thi Dinh Secondary School (Ia Rve Commune), shared that his house is 11km away from the school, so traveling is quite difficult. Every day, he and his brother wake up at 5am to cook rice to go to school. Many rainy days, on the way to school, he falls off his bike or gets his clothes and books wet, and the two of them have to go back. He is very happy because his school has been upgraded, expanded, and is larger and more spacious, with a dormitory where he can stay. When he has more time to study, he will definitely study better to be able to realize his dream of becoming a border guard.

Ms. Sao H'Phon (born in 1950), Thong Nhat village (Buon Don commune) confided: "Thong Nhat village has 46% of ethnic minority households, the lives of many households are still difficult. Therefore, building a school brings great joy to ethnic people, especially school-age children."
