Explosion in Paris, France: Nearly 40 people injured and missing

A large explosion rocked Rue Saint-Jacques in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France, injuring at least 37 people and leaving two missing.

The explosion also caused a large fire, resulting in the collapse of one building and the shattering of windows in surrounding houses within a 400-meter radius.

About 70 fire trucks and more than 300 firefighters were mobilized to the scene. Rescue workers and sniffer dogs are still trying to find two people trapped in the rubble of the above building, while four victims have been taken to the emergency room in critical condition.

The cause of the incident is being urgently clarified. According to the initial investigation results, this could be a gas explosion in the collapsed building.
