The Phan Rang - Thap Cham City sub-project commenced in June 2016 and is expected to be completed on June 30, 2024. After listening to the project management board's progress report and conducting on-site monitoring, the WB delegation members noted significant progress in the construction of various components, with some projects completed, bringing joy to the people in the beneficiary areas. They also recommended that the province further strengthen the disbursement of funds, develop a plan to definitively resolve outstanding issues; expedite the construction of the Tan Tai Canal, Cha La Canal, and Dong Hai Lake; ensure labor safety during construction, maintain environmental hygiene on the construction site to avoid impacting the lives and activities of the people, and expedite the connection of wastewater to the common drainage system.
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the World Bank delegation for their continuous support in implementing the project. Based on the delegation's proposals and recommendations, the province will focus on directing the investor, relevant departments, and localities to enhance coordination, proactively review all remaining tasks, especially urgently completing land clearance, preparing detailed construction schedules for items where land is available, and allocating counterpart funds to ensure the project is completed as committed to the World Bank.
