On the afternoon of October 20, the People's Council of Lang Son province, term XVII, 2021 - 2026, held the 41st session (special session) to elect the positions of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

Speaking at the meeting, Lang Son Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Quoc Khanh emphasized that the meeting is of great significance for the personnel reform in the local government apparatus. The comrades nominated for the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Provincial People's Committee are carefully selected officials with strong political will, good qualities and ethics, capacity and practical experience, meeting the requirements of the current period.

The Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee requested that the Provincial People's Council delegates uphold their sense of responsibility; exercise their voting rights impartially, objectively, democratically, in accordance with regulations, and select comrades who are truly exemplary in terms of qualities, abilities, and prestige...

Lang Son Provincial People's Council heard the introduction of comrade Nguyen Canh Toan, Deputy Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee, to be elected to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 17th term, 2021 - 2026.

With 44/46 votes in agreement from the attending delegates (reaching 95.65%), comrade Nguyen Canh Toan was elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, term 2021 - 2026.

Comrade Nguyen Canh Toan was born in 1976, Kinh ethnic group, hometown Nghe An province; qualifications: Master of Human Resource Management, Senior in Political Theory. Before being elected as Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Nguyen Canh Toan held the following positions: Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, Deputy Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee.

The Provincial People's Council voted to dismiss the positions of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, term 2021 - 2026 for comrade Duong Xuan Huyen (to introduce to be elected as Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council) and comrade Luong Trong Quynh (to transfer and appoint as Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; dismissed the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Lang Son province, term 2021 - 2026 for comrade Dinh Huu Hoc (to introduce to be elected as Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee).

At the meeting, the People's Council of Lang Son province listened to the introductions and elected the positions of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Specifically, with 43/46 votes in agreement from the attending delegates (reaching 93.47%), comrade Duong Xuan Huyen was elected as Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Lang Son province. Comrade Duong Xuan Huyen was born in 1973, Tay ethnic group; qualifications: Master of Philosophy, Senior in Political Theory. Before being elected as Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Lang Son province, term 2021 - 2026, comrade Duong Xuan Huyen held the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province.

With 44/46 votes in favor of the attending delegates (reaching 95.65%), comrade Dinh Huu Hoc was elected Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province. Comrade Dinh Huu Hoc was born in 1977, Tay ethnic group; qualifications: Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Economics (Business Administration), Senior in Political Theory. Before being elected Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, term 2021 - 2026, comrade Dinh Huu Hoc held the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Lang Son province.

With 43/46 votes in favor of the attending delegates (reaching 93.47%), comrade Tran Thanh Nhan was elected Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province. Comrade Tran Thanh Nhan was born in 1982, Kinh ethnic group; qualifications: Master of Business Administration, Senior in Political Theory. Before being elected Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, term 2021 - 2026, comrade Tran Thanh Nhan held the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Chi Lang commune.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Canh Toan thanked the People's Council of Lang Son province for trusting him to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province for the 2021-2026 term. This is an honor and a great responsibility. He promised to work with the collective of the Provincial People's Committee to unite, inherit experience, face difficulties and challenges, and wholeheartedly carry out the tasks successfully in the new period.
