The 8th "Young Francophone Journalist" competition, organized by Le Courrier du Vietnam (a subsidiary of the Vietnam News Agency), officially launched on August 1st. The competition is open to all young people aged 18 to 35 who are proficient in speaking and writing French.
With the theme "Francophone and the Culture of Sharing," the competition provides a platform for young French speakers in Vietnam and around the world to share and discuss cultural diversity, one of the top priorities of the Francophone Community. The competition will also help participants showcase their efforts and initiative through their French writing skills, thereby conveying the vitality of the language.

The competition was organized under the main sponsorship of the Regional Representative Office for Asia -Pacific (REPAP) of the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) and the Vietnam News Agency, as well as with the support of the Francophone University Organization (AUF), the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation, the Group of Embassies and International Missions Using French in Vietnam (GADIF), universities in the Francophone bloc, etc.
Submitted works must not have been previously published in any mass media, either domestically or internationally. The author(s) must ensure they retain copyright over their submitted works. Valid entries are those that do not violate the regulations and laws of the Vietnamese State, and do not go against the customs, traditions, and culture of the nation.

The submission period is from August 1st to August 31st. Twenty shortlisted entries will be published from October 10th to October 29th on the online newspaper https://lecourrier.vn for readers to vote. The awards ceremony is tentatively scheduled for November 10th, 2023.
The organizing committee will award three main prizes: 1st Prize (a laptop worth 20 million VND), 2nd Prize (a tablet worth 10 million VND), and 3rd Prize (a smartphone worth 5 million VND). In addition, the organizing committee will award several consolation prizes and other supplementary prizes such as the Reader's Choice Award, the Talented Student Award, the Most Impressive Contestant Award, etc.
