On December 20th, the police in Ngu Hanh Son District ( Da Nang City) announced that they are consolidating files and documents to prosecute two establishments producing and selling fresh rice noodles in the area for violating regulations on ensuring food hygiene and safety.
Earlier that same morning, a task force from the Economic and Environmental Police Team of Ngu Hanh Son District Police conducted a surprise inspection of two establishments producing, processing, and trading fresh rice noodles and vermicelli in Hoa Hai and Hoa Quy wards (Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City).
These are two large-scale production and processing facilities that supply not only the Ngu Hanh Son district but also many districts and counties in Da Nang city, as well as neighboring districts and towns in Quang Nam province.
The fresh rice noodles and vermicelli products from the two production facilities did not meet food safety standards.
The inspection results showed that, despite large-scale production, both facilities lacked certificates of food safety compliance.
Regarding the workers at the facility at the time of inspection, those directly handling food were not wearing adequate personal protective equipment, and the production area was damp and moldy.
Neither the owner of the establishment nor the employees directly involved in food production and processing have certificates confirming their food safety training…
The production facilities do not meet the required standards.
Following the violations, the Economic and Environmental Police Team of Ngu Hanh Son District Police Department issued violation reports to two establishments, ordering them to rectify the shortcomings.
Besides issuing written reports as a basis for penalties, the police force of Ngu Hanh Son District said they will continue to conduct follow-up inspections, and if the establishments re-offend and fail to rectify the situation, their operations will be suspended.
As Thanh Nien newspaper previously reported, in recent times, the economic and environmental police forces of local police departments in Da Nang City have continuously inspected and discovered food processing and trading establishments that do not meet food safety and environmental hygiene standards.
Among them are many large-scale food production facilities that supply large quantities to numerous retail outlets and distributors throughout Da Nang City, such as fruit tea, fried chicken, dried beef, etc.
