Previously, H.D.E (15 years old, residing in Ea Tar commune, Cu M'gar district) had symptoms of abdominal pain and difficulty breathing, and was taken by his family to the Cu M'gar District Health Center for examination.
Speaking with the doctors, E.'s family said that she had experienced discomfort in her abdominal area since she was 10 years old, but there was no pain, so the family did not take her to a medical facility for examination.
Doctors surgically removed an ovarian tumor from a 15-year-old girl.
After the examination, the doctors consulted and diagnosed H.D.E. with a very large ovarian tumor that was causing pain and difficulty breathing, so they recommended surgery to remove the tumor.
By the morning of June 8th, H.D.E. was taken to the operating room. After more than an hour of surgery, the doctors removed a tumor measuring 50 x 40 x 30 cm and weighing nearly 9 kg from the child's body.
Currently, E.'s health is gradually stabilizing and she is being monitored and treated post-operatively at the Reproductive and Obstetrics Care Department of the Cư M'gar District Health Center.
According to Mr. Bui Nam On, ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that appear abnormally in or on the surface of the ovaries. The condition can occur at any age, not just in women of reproductive age. Therefore, adult women and children during puberty should regularly undergo early screening for ovarian cysts to avoid dangerous complications that affect reproductive health.
