Plastic surgery, using many fake names to escape arrest

On October 17, the Criminal Police Department, Hanoi City Police announced that the Special Criminal Police Team had just arrested wanted subject Hoang Thi Phuong Trang (41 years old, living in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi).

According to the authorities, in September 2013, Trang was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Hanoi People’s Court for fraud and appropriation of property. At that time, Trang was raising a young child and was released on bail.

However, in 2016, Trang fled her residence and was wanted by Hanoi police.

Hoang Thi Phuong Trang had plastic surgery to escape arrest.

During the investigation, the police determined that Trang had been constantly moving through many provinces and cities, doing many different jobs to hide her identity. Then, following the enticement, Trang illegally crossed the border to Cambodia, working in casinos and massage parlors.

During that time, Trang used the fake name Thuy or Linh and had cosmetic surgery on her face.

When returning to Vietnam, Trang was tracked by authorities and discovered hiding in Nghe An , working as a massage therapist at a hotel.

On October 13, the Hanoi Police Special Criminal Police Team raided a rented room in Hung Phuc ward, Vinh city, and arrested Hoang Thi Phuong Trang.

The subject was then handed over by the Criminal Police Department to Detention Camp No. 1 of Hanoi Police.
