Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man directs the activities of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam until the position of Chairman of the National Assembly is completed.

Also on the afternoon of May 2, the Secretary General of the National Assembly issued Notice No. 3568/TB-TTKQH on the assignment of operations of the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee assigned comrade Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, to direct the activities of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam until the position of Chairman of the 15th National Assembly is completed according to regulations.

Comrade Tran Thanh Man was born in 1962, in Chau Thanh district, Hau Giang province.

He was an alternate member of the 10th Party Central Committee; a member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Central Committee; a Secretary of the 12th Party Central Committee; a member of the 13th Politburo and a National Assembly deputy of the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms.

After many years of working for the Youth Union in Hau Giang and Can Tho, from July 1994, comrade Tran Thanh Man became Chief of Office, then Vice Chairman and Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho province (later changed to city).

He also served as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for more than four years, before holding the positions of Vice Chairman, then Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

In April 2021, he was elected by the 14th National Assembly to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly. In July 2021, he was assigned to hold the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.
