Look up 10th grade exam scores
On the morning of June 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Departmentof Education and Training announced the 10th grade entrance exam scores of nearly 96,000 candidates. In the Foreign Language subject, about 32% of the test scores were excellent (8 points or higher), the highest among the three basic subjects. This year, the percentage of candidates with below average scores in Foreign Languages is 32.3%, also down from 44.8% last year.
Previously, the "rain" of 10s in Foreign Language subject was predicted by teachers after candidates completed the exam in this subject. Ms. Tran Thi Van, head of the English group at Nguyen Du Secondary School, rated the Foreign Language subject score high because the exam was easy, familiar, and had no tricky questions that would confuse candidates.
In Literature, the highest score was 9.25. Meanwhile, in Mathematics, there were 121 exams with perfect scores. The percentage of exams with scores below average in Literature and Mathematics were 11.8% and 46%, respectively.
After the exam scores are announced, candidates who want to appeal can submit an application to their secondary school - where they studied grade 9 - from June 21 to 24. The appeal results will be announced on June 30.
On June 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the admission scores for specialized and integrated grade 10 and the list of candidates admitted directly. The admission scores for regular grade 10 and the list of successful candidates will be announced on July 10.
This year, out of nearly 96,000 candidates taking the exam, about 77,300 will be admitted (80%). Many teachers believe that the benchmark score for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City this year could be over 25 points for top schools, 16-22 points for mid-ranking schools, and over 11 points for suburban schools. This level is an increase of 0.5-1 point compared to last year.
