Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang inspects damage recovery efforts in Muong Pon 1 village, Muong Pon commune.

During a field inspection of disaster relief efforts in Tin Toc, Linh, and Muong Pon 1 villages, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang requested the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and agencies, and the armed forces to further accelerate the disaster relief process, promptly allocate land for resettlement, and stabilize the lives of people in areas affected by flash floods and landslides. At the same time, he urged close monitoring of the disaster's developments, proactive direction, and decisive, timely, and effective implementation of response and recovery measures. Local Party committees and authorities need to intensify propaganda and resolutely relocate households still located in high-risk landslide areas to ensure the absolute safety of people's lives and property. Following the floods, people's health has been affected; therefore, medical measures must be strengthened to ensure healthcare for the people, especially the elderly and children.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited and presented gifts to encourage households severely affected by flash floods.

The People's Committee of Dien Bien District should continue to calculate support plans to restore the damaged agricultural land of the people. For areas that cannot be restored, they should quickly switch to other crops so that people have the means to develop production. The Department of Transport of Dien Bien Province needs to focus on ensuring traffic on National Highway 12 section through Muong Pon commune; at points at risk of landslides, plans should be immediately developed to address the situation because the flood situation remains very complex.
