Prevention and control of aquatic animal diseases in the province by 2025

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to prevent and control aquatic animal diseases in the province in 2025.

The plan aims to organize disease prevention, control and effective control of a number of dangerous diseases in aquaculture; support disease surveillance and provide professional support to aquaculture facilities and production chains in the process of building disease-free facilities in Binh Thuan . Instruct aquaculture farmers on measures to prevent disease outbreaks. Organize close monitoring of the situation, inspect and promptly detect outbreaks of aquatic animal diseases (if any). Proactively and quickly deploy disease prevention work for aquaculture animals when epidemics occur in the province.

To proactively prevent and control aquatic animal diseases in the province, the Provincial People's Committee requests the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to step up information and propaganda work on the disease situation in aquaculture, disseminate disease prevention measures in the localities. At the same time, propagate and mobilize farmers to actively respond to disease prevention and control measures, proactively report when there is an epidemic, regularly organize environmental sanitation and disinfect ponds. Direct relevant departments and offices to closely monitor and supervise the local aquaculture situation. Strengthen inspection of farming conditions and resolutely handle violations of disease prevention and control work according to the provisions of law.

In addition, aquaculture and seed production facilities must apply disease prevention and control measures; comply with regulations on quarantine, environmental monitoring, disease reporting, and archive records related to the facility's operations such as breeds. In addition, aquatic animals must be cared for and managed; epidemic outbreaks, waste and wastewater must be handled according to the instructions of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Fisheries, etc.
