The health sector has regularly organized timely response efforts in areas with dengue fever patients; monitored mosquito larvae (tadpoles) and Aedes mosquitoes that transmit dengue fever in areas with current cases, old outbreaks, and high-risk areas… thereby implementing timely response activities. Currently, the dengue fever epidemic in the country remains under control. However, the erratic weather conditions, with alternating rain and sunshine, have created favorable conditions for the development of Aedes mosquitoes that transmit the disease, so we cannot be complacent about the very high risk of dengue fever outbreaks in the near future.

Local authorities must strengthen communication to raise community awareness about disease prevention measures, enhance professional training for healthcare workers on disease prevention and treatment; and proactively organize training courses and exchange experiences in disease prevention and control. Communication activities should focus on changing people's habits regarding environmental hygiene, proactively eliminating mosquitoes and larvae in households; and impose penalties on households that do not follow recommendations for larva eradication as required by the health sector. Simultaneously, raise public awareness about disease prevention for individuals, families, and the community. Each family only needs to dedicate 10 minutes a day to eliminating larvae to contribute to preventing mosquito breeding and breaking the chain of disease transmission. This is a solution the health sector hopes people will work together to implement.

A 15-year journey of working together with the community to combat dengue fever.
