Over the years, Quan Hoa district has consistently focused on developing cultural and artistic activities. Many clubs and art troupes have been established and operate effectively in communes and towns, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people.
The people of But village, Nam Xuan commune, participate in cultural and artistic activities.
Ban But is one of the villages in Nam Xuan commune with a thriving arts and culture movement. To achieve this, the village consistently focuses on developing mass cultural and artistic activities, and has established an intergenerational club to preserve traditional cultural values and promote the development of arts and culture.
Established in 2013 with 20 members, the intergenerational club in But village has now attracted over 50 members. The club members are of varying ages, but share a common passion for culture and arts, and a desire to preserve traditional cultural values. Since its inception, in addition to performing cultural shows for the village, commune, and district on holidays, anniversaries, and participating in folk art competitions at all levels, the intergenerational club in But village has also passed on many lullabies and unique dances of the Thai ethnic group to the younger generation. From the club, many young artistic talents have been nurtured and trained, becoming the next generation, "keeping the flame alive" for the folk art movement; promoting the traditional culture of their ethnic group to everyone, educating the younger generation to cherish the cultural values of their ancestors, and contributing to the development of the village's folk art movement.
In a conversation with us, Village Head Ha Cong Chuc said: To promote the development of cultural and artistic activities, the village regularly participates in mass art movements and competitions; and has established an intergenerational club to pass on traditional cultural values. In recent years, the village has focused on developing community tourism and has initially achieved positive results. The number of visitors to the village for sightseeing and experiences is increasing. Many tourists also hope to experience the unique cultural features of the Thai ethnic group. The village's intergenerational club actively stages and practices cultural performances to serve tourists. The establishment of the club helps preserve traditional cultural values while promoting the beauty of local culture to the outside world.
Currently, 157 cultural and artistic clubs and groups have been established in Quan Hoa district, across villages and neighborhoods. These clubs and groups, regularly active, not only meet the cultural and artistic needs of the people but also preserve and promote traditional cultural values. To maintain their activities, these clubs and groups have established well-structured activity criteria, with rich and diverse performance content, mostly focusing on folk art genres. In addition, some clubs and groups regularly organize exchanges with other clubs in the district to provide opportunities for members to share experiences in their activities and performances. To date, the mass cultural and artistic movement in Quan Hoa district has developed extensively in all communes and towns. Many communes have effective performing arts clubs and troupes, such as Phu Nghiem, Phu Le, Nam Xuan, Phu Thanh, and Hoi Xuan town... One of the important factors maintaining and promoting the increasingly strong development of these community performing arts clubs and troupes is the attention and support from local Party committees and authorities. Following the motto "The State and the People work together," many communes and towns have provided financial support for these clubs and troupes to operate, practice, and purchase performance costumes. Every year, the district proactively allocates budget and mobilizes resources to invest in building cultural facilities, meeting the community's needs.
According to Luong Thi Nhung, Head of the Culture and Information Department: Quan Hoa District has always paid attention to the establishment and development of arts clubs and troupes. These serve as a "lever" for developing mass arts activities. At competitions and festivals, with serious investment, the artistic quality of these clubs and troupes has steadily improved. The performances are rich and diverse, meeting the entertainment needs of the people. This significantly contributes to building cultural life at the grassroots level, creating momentum to promote the emulation movement in labor and production, and strengthening the solidarity of the people.
Building on the achievements already made, in the coming period, the district will continue to strengthen the leadership and guidance of Party committees and authorities at all levels regarding cultural and artistic activities. It will promote propaganda and encourage people to actively participate in cultural and sports activities in general, and mass artistic activities in particular. It will direct communes and towns to pay attention to and guide cultural and artistic clubs and teams in developing activity programs that suit the needs of the people and the local context.
