Minh Hoa commune women build a strong association

Building and consolidating a strong organization, innovating the content and methods of operation are the key contents that the Women's Union of Minh Hoa commune has effectively implemented in the past time. Thanks to that, the quality of the Union's activities and the commune's women's movement has been increasingly developed, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of female members.

Minh Hoa commune was merged from 3 communes Ngoc Lap, Ngoc Dong and Minh Hoa. The whole commune currently has 2,451 women members, active in 30 residential area branches, of which members of working age account for 50.1%; female civil servants, public employees, and workers active in the Trade Union account for 5.2%, members working in agriculture account for 88%, members working in service business and other occupations account for 6.8%.

Comrade Pham Thi Thuy An - Chairwoman of the Commune Women's Union said: In recent years, the Women's Unions of the three old communes have always proposed appropriate tasks and solutions, creating motivation for members to enthusiastically participate in studying, working and producing, building prosperous and happy families, contributing to the successful implementation of local economic - cultural - social development tasks. In the period of 2021 - 2025, the Commune Women's Unions have actively innovated the content and methods of operation to be close to the actual situation of the locality, 8/8 targets set out in the term were all achieved and exceeded by the organization.

From the movement of helping each other to have an address and a source of entrusted loans through the Women's Union of the commune, the family of member Dao Thi Tho (right) in Thong Nhat 3 area has invested in a comprehensive model for high economic efficiency.

With the motto "Where there are women, there are Association activities", the Association has diversified the forms of gathering and developing members, assigned the Association's Executive Committee members to be in charge of branches to attend activities at branches; directed the construction of new models suitable to the locality and the needs of women to widely gather women from all walks of life to participate in the Association. Since then, 176 new members have been recruited into the organization, bringing the total to 2,451 members, of which 687 are core members.

In addition, the Commune Women's Union has identified tasks and solutions to effectively implement the breakthrough "Strengthening support for grassroots Union officials to improve their skills in proficiently using basic software in Union work" and "Innovating the content and methods of operation, building strong branches and women's groups". Accordingly, the Union organization focuses on training and fostering the staff. Every year, it selects staff to participate in training courses organized by the higher-level Union; at the same time, it surveys the training and fostering needs of the Union staff, determines the training and fostering content suitable for each subject to propose to the higher-level Union on training and fostering for grassroots officials and branch leaders. The Commune Women's Union promotes the application of information technology in union activities, sets up a zalo group system of the union to regularly exchange information and grasp the operation situation of the branches. Currently, the Commune Women's Union has 31 zalo groups, of which 1 group was established by the Commune Women's Union and 30 groups in 30 branches with 2,451 members, operating very effectively.

Along with diversifying its activities, the Association actively carries out emulation movements to develop the economy and reduce poverty. With over 50% of the workforce being female, members have actively studied, boldly invested, applied scientific and technical advances in production, transformed the structure of crops and livestock; built groups/teams to create more jobs, and helped each other develop the economy. Typical examples are the sewing group model of members: Nguyen Thi Tham (area 16), Nguyen Thi Ha, Nguyen Thi Bich Lap (area 7) creating jobs for 78 workers, with an average income of 5 - 10 million VND/person/month; the cooperative model "Minh Hoa ancient rice cakes" with 7 members led by Ms. Dinh Thi Sen...

Implementing the movement "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families", members have promoted the core role in building prosperous, happy families, building cultural and exemplary families. The movement of helping each other to have an address to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty continues to be maintained and developed regularly in 30/30 branches; especially the activities of helping each other in daily life are clearly demonstrated in many diverse forms such as: Playing in the ward, they, maintaining a group of women helping each other without taking interest with an amount of nearly 257 million VND for 1,257 members to borrow to develop the family economy; supporting and helping members' families affected by fire, illness, serious illness, with over 500 working days, an amount of 106 million VND; supporting the Charity Shelter Fund with nearly 133 million VND... For the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", the Women's Union has directed the branches to maintain and improve the quality of the model "Women's branch of 5 no's, 3 clean's to build new rural areas" in 12/30 branches. The results during the term have helped 35 households meet the criteria of "family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", of which 30 households headed by women have escaped poverty according to the new criteria.

With the goal of building Vietnamese women in the new era, effectively implementing the campaign "Building a family of 5 yes, 3 clean" and breakthroughs: Comprehensive digital transformation in the organization of the Union; promoting women to start businesses, innovate, and get rich legitimately; promoting gender equality; in the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels of Minh Hoa commune will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation to raise awareness and improve the capacity of cadres, members and women. In particular, focusing on innovating the direction, management and implementation methods of activities; promoting the application of information technology, creativity and flexibility in organizing activities at the branches. Consolidating and diversifying models of gathering women, developing members through maintaining the model of traditional branch and association activities according to residential areas; Encourage models of gathering and attracting members according to age, interests, and professions in the form of groups, clubs, and through social networking sites such as Zalo and Facebook.
