Phu Quoc builds two largest schools ever

Construction of two largest public school projects ever in Phu Quoc City ( Kien Giang ) has begun.

On December 30, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Duong Dong Kindergarten and Duong Dong Secondary School, in Quarter 10, Duong Dong Ward, with a total investment of more than 170 billion VND.

Accordingly, Duong Dong Kindergarten has an investment capital of 56 billion VND, built on a land area of ​​7,748 ^m2 . The project includes the following items: administrative block, 20 kindergarten classrooms, 5 subject rooms, 3 dining rooms. In addition, there is a kitchen, gate, fence, guard house, fire protection system, technical infrastructure system, equipment for learning and teaching.

Duong Dong Secondary School was invested 120 billion VND, built on a land area of ​​13,041 ^m2 . The project includes the principal's office, 45 classrooms (11 primary classrooms, 34 secondary classrooms), 13 subject rooms, a multi-purpose house, a gate, a fence, a guard house, a teacher's garage, a student's garage, a mini artificial turf soccer field, an outdoor swimming pool, a fire protection system, a technical infrastructure system, and equipment for studying and teaching.

Both of these projects are invested by the Phu Quoc Area Construction Investment Project Management Board and are expected to be completed in August 2026.

According to Mr. Pham Van Nghiep, Vice Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee, this is the largest school project ever in the city, with a modern and standard design.

Mr. Do Van Tuan, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Quoc City, said that after completion, these two public schools will reduce the number of students studying at schools in Duong Dong Ward. At the same time, it will help neighboring schools meet national standards because many schools are currently facing criteria regarding the number of students.
