On October 26, the tide in some wards in Ho Chi Minh City remained high, in addition, Dau Tieng Lake also discharged water, causing some low-lying areas along the Saigon River to be flooded.

Areas affected by high tides include: Ba Quyen Canal (Chanh Hiep Ward), Bau Bang Canal, Ong Danh Canal, branches of Ba Lua Canal (Thu Dau Mot Ward), Saigon River embankment (near Ba Lua Port), areas outside Tan An embankment (Phu An Ward), Doan Tran Nghiep Street, Thich Quang Duc Street, Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Nguyen Van Cu Street,...

In Phu An ward, on October 24 and 25, the peak tide reached 1.87m (0.07m higher than the historical mark on October 18, 2024 of 1.8m), causing overflow and flooding in some areas of Tan An 1, Tan An 2, Phu Thuan, Ben Giang, Phu Thu and Ben Lieu neighborhoods. The high tide affected about 168 households and 42 hectares of fruit trees.
Faced with this situation, the Phu An Ward Party Committee issued a document directing comprehensive response, prevention and overcoming of consequences, with the spirit of "proactive - urgent - safe - effective".

Early morning on October 26, Phu An ward leaders continued to be present in flooded areas to reinforce embankments, visit and guide people in coping with high tides.

The group organized clearing, collecting water hyacinth, and clearing the flow of more than 600m at Ong Tang canal (Phu Thu quarter) and culvert 2 (Tan An 1 quarter) to drain water and limit local flooding.

In addition, Phu An ward forces supported people in moving their belongings to a dry place, providing necessary household items and cleaning up the environment.

* High tides also affected many areas of Tay Nam ward, especially in An Thanh and Lo O neighborhoods. Most of the people living in this area make a living by raising fish or growing ornamental plants.

To cope with flooding, on the night of October 25, Tay Nam ward sent forces to An Thanh and Lo O neighborhoods to clean up fallen trees and move property to help people.

Tay Nam ward forces coordinated to support households in moving their properties out of flooded areas to minimize damage.

The Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that high tides at most stations on the Saigon River are likely to remain high on October 26 and 27.
The peak tide at Thu Dau Mot station on October 26 is forecast to be 1.64m. Meanwhile, Dau Tieng reservoir continues to overflow (according to the announcement, it will be discharged from October 25 to November 1), the flooding situation in low-lying areas in Phu An ward, Tay Nam - which has been flooded in recent days - is forecast to continue to be tense.
