Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Sandeep Arya said: Vietnam is a long-standing and close friend of India. The comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has developed well in all fields. The two sides support the opening of new opportunities for economic cooperation; identify areas of common interest to increase investment, such as: infrastructure, energy (electricity), transportation. Tourism cooperation has grown positively thanks to the increasing number of direct flights between the two countries. In addition, the two countries actively cooperate in the fields of: innovation, technology, education, Buddhism, culture, heritage conservation, etc.
According to Ambassador Sandeep Arya, Vietnam and India share a common interest and have a clear plan for developing security and defense relations. He believes that cooperation between the two countries in this field will contribute to stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet said: Vietnam and India have strong political trust. Economic cooperation between the two countries is developing vigorously. Bilateral trade reached 15 billion USD. The two sides have set a target of doubling this figure by 2030. The number of Indian tourists to Vietnam has tripled since the first direct flight in 2019, reaching nearly 400,000 by 2023. Over the past 10 years, India has organized training for nearly 3,000 Vietnamese officials and students in many fields. The two countries share common views on many international issues. India's multi-directional, multi-connected foreign policy is consistent with Vietnam's independent, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy.
Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet believes that the relationship between the two countries still has much potential and room for development, including further deepening political trust and defense cooperation; further expanding opportunities for effective cooperation in the fields of economics - trade - investment, science - technology and innovation; and people-to-people exchange.
