Quang Nam proposes to adjust the protection zone of the Ky Anh tunnel historical relic

According to the Provincial People's Committee, the reason for adjusting the protected area of ​​this relic is that, through surveys and assessments based on the original traces of the relic along the route of tunnels No. 1 and 2 in protected areas I and II (Thach Tan village), the area passing through Linh Buu Pagoda has shown discrepancies compared to the Map of the protected area of ​​the relic attached to Decision No. 985 dated May 7, 1997, of the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the alignment of the aforementioned tunnel to ensure compliance with the Law on Cultural Heritage, the Law on Urban Planning, and Government Decree No. 98 dated September 21, 2010, detailing some provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and the Law amending some provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage; and at the same time, to provide a legal basis for the restoration and preservation of the relic as prescribed.

Furthermore, adjusting the route also facilitates the repair of existing structures that are damaged or dilapidated, ensuring the rights and meeting the needs and aspirations of the people living in the historical site area (Linh Buu Pagoda and the households in the area).

The Provincial People's Committee proposed to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to adjust the alignment of routes 1 and 2 in the protected areas I and II of the Thach Tan tunnel (Thach Tan village), specifically the section passing through Linh Buu Pagoda in the Ky Anh Tunnel Historical Site, as follows: Route 1: Adjusted to the east (adjacent to the existing concrete road); Route 2: Adjusted to the west by approximately 21m.

The Ky Anh tunnel historical site was ranked as a National Monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in Decision No. 985, dated May 7, 1997 (the protected area includes: (1) Area I: Thach Tan tunnel (Thach Tan village): 8km long, 20m wide; Vinh Binh tunnel (Vinh Binh village): 10km long, 20m wide; (2) Area 2: Thach Tan tunnel (Thach Tan village): 8.2km long, 80m wide; Vinh Binh tunnel (Vinh Binh village): 10.2km long, 80m wide).
