National Day September 2: South Korea displays image of Vietnamese national flag

The Vietnamese national flag was displayed on top of Namsan Tower and City Hall in central Seoul from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on September 2 on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023).
This is the first time the capital Seoul has displayed the image of the red flag with a yellow star on the occasion of Vietnam's National Day.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Nguyen Vu Tung and a large number of people in the community, associations, students, workers and officials from various sectors were excited to watch and celebrate the country's great day and memorable moments at two symbolic locations in the capital Seoul. In an interview with a VNA reporter in Seoul, Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung said this was the first time the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea had organized National Day at a historical and famous location in the capital Seoul. This was the first time the Vietnamese flag and a greeting to celebrate Vietnam's National Day were raised on Namsan Tower. Many people in the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea, Korean people and international guests had the opportunity to share joy with the Vietnamese people on the country's great holiday. Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung said that this event further deepens the relationship between Vietnam and Korea, helping to further promote the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Korea in the context of economic, political , cultural and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries. This event brings the image of Vietnam closer to the Korean people and the Vietnamese community in Korea.

Present on Namsan Tower with a team of cyclists wearing shirts with the red flag and yellow star, Trinh Xuan Loc, a second-year student at Myeongji University, said: “Today is a special day, September 2, the Vietnamese national flag is projected on Namsan Tower, so we cycled up to respond to this event. I feel very proud and moved because I am a son of Vietnam.”
Trinh Xuan Loc said that every weekend, his group of students cycled around the Seoul area. While cycling, they all wore shirts printed with the Vietnamese flag, so many people asked about them. Every time they were introduced to their country, they felt very proud of their homeland, Vietnam. This is a very meaningful activity on the country's important holiday, making Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Korea more proud of Vietnam and more devoted to their beloved homeland.

Namsan Tower is the first television tower in Korea and opened to visitors in 1980. Since then, the tower has become increasingly famous and has truly become a symbol, an indispensable destination in the journey to explore the capital city of Seoul.
